Quick question on audio/visual hallucinations during SP

      Hey guys,
My main method to LD is DILD... But I've been trying to WILD for sometime with little or no success... Recently i have been breaking through to SP And this morning i lasted the longest i have done in SP. The one thing i wanted to ask is does anyone have any sort of tricks or tips to help you ignore audio or visual hallucinations as when i was attempting a WILD WBTB Early this morning i suddenly heard like a demonic-ish echo. I calmed myself down and even found the noise funny after a few seconds but it was that initial "HOLY CRAP, WHAT IS THAT!?" That i think jerked me back out of SP...

I know you have to keep calm and tell yourself its not real etc etc, just like mentioned earlier, any tips? =P

      Thanks!

You'll find this happens quite frequently. Once you get pretty deep into SP, you'll be more detached and less likely to get frightened or excited out of sp, but in the early stages if something surprises you there's really not much you can do besides calming back down and letting yourself re-enter sp. It can get frustrating and you'll find that it will often take a few attempts...entering SP, getting excited or scared, exiting SP, swallow, waiting, re-entering SP, coming back out, etc. before you are successful. Sometimes it's just a matter of luck. (I can always tell the instant I start to come out of SP during a WILD attempt because the swallow reflex kicks in).

I normally have the most success trying to interact with the hallucinations. Obviously, you can't really talk, but try to start a dialogue with any beings you might sense. Try to ask them for help, ask them what they are doing, ect. You don't want the hallucinations to stop. They are the beginning of the dream. Don't try to stop them, fight them, or resist them. Go with it, and try to kick start some sort of narrative to get you involved with the dream.

If you are just startled by a loud noise, there is not much you can do. As Nina said, just try to re-relax and try again. You should get back to the same state quickly.
