Firstly: Disregard what you have heard previously, as you seem to be going about this the wrong way. Whether you reach sleep paralysis and/or vibrations or not is irrelevant (or any other physical/external feature for that matter). I, for one, WILD without SP.
When WILDing, you're not trying to stay awake or look for signs such as SP and HH. The fundamental element is to go to sleep and stay aware - not try to stay awake. Why's that you ask? Well, the whole point of lucid dreaming is to focus on internal reality. What that basically means is to focus on what's inside of you and completely blank out the outside world. By focusing on sleep paralysis and the WILD itself you're doing the complete opposite to focusing in, and you're not going to be very successful that way.
Just let go. Let your mind wander and now and then bring it back so that you're that tiny bit aware of what's going on. Things which will help immensely are using your internal senses to generate scenes, feelings, noises, tastes, etc. If you can vividly imagine yourself holding an apple (for example) and really feel and see it there you're already half way, and this way you're concentrating on things which will help you get to where you want to be.
