Question Attempting WILD at night... some questions...

The last couple of nights I've been trying to WILD right at bedtime (meaning no WBTB... i have my own reasons) and i've gotten to the point where I can induce sleep paralysis. At this point I start trying to visualize something in my dreams, one of the easiest ways to do this for me is to visualize everything in my room, the walls, the dresser, the desk, the posters, the closet, even the empty space of the room. However, when I get to this point... something goes crazy with my eyes. Either they'll start twitching like mad back and forth and up and down (like in REM sleep) or they'll force themselves open. In fact the only way I can keep them closed is when I concentrate and shut them tight really hard, but this momentarily takes my attention away from my visualization and I lose it and I have to start over.

Can anyone suggest some possible reasons for this happening? Or even some techniques to remedy this problem of mine?

also sometimes I'll try to visualize something else, and I catch it for ONE instant in the corner of my eye before my mind goes all "Whoa" (like Neo) and reverts back to me being aware of being awake and not dreaming.

I feel like I'm super close to an epiphany here.

      Hi DoctorEams

It sounds like you got a case "over-eager and don't want to stay closed eye syndrome". Anyway your question is answered with detail in this thread made by the helpful Jeff777. Don't worry, it is pretty common for this to happen to people

You just have to stay calm if you start seeing HH. After you see it stay relaxed and keep visualizing. Dont go "Omg I just saw something." and get all excited for the next ten minutes. You just have to keep calm. Sounds like your getting close, though! Good luck to you!

Im gonna be honest and say I don't think your actually inducing sleep paralysis. How sure are you that you are in sleep paralysis? Simply heaviness does not count, theres been tons of times where I felt a heaviness and shift in my mind and thought I was in SP but when nothing happened after visualising something, I always found that I could move.

Whenever I actually get SP, i hear a loud roaring vibration and also feel it all throughout my body, theres also times where I hear voices that aren't there saying things, and whenever I do successfully get SP from a WILD, i always enter a LD without having to visualize or anything, it just takes a couple seconds of staying calm thinking about nothing and BAM im in a lucid dream. The thing about the eyes twiching and then opening, that used to happen to me too and every time it did, I would fail to WILD, this is just my advice from personal experience, take it how you will

also one thing I forgot to mention, don't try WILD'ing at night, none of my successful WILD attempts have happened at night before prior sleep, and only 1 of my WILD's has come without WBTB, the rest all happened after WBTB and at least 6 hours of sleep prior.

Thanks Mancon! I can definitely confirm that I'm eager to have a lucid dream hahah it's hard not to be, and I'll definitely look over that link.

@Lawilahd, I guess I can't be 100% certain I'm in SP, but I'd reckon 80% at least. My limbs don't necessarily go heavy, I just lose conscious feeling of them... I still have feeling in my chest when I take a deep breath though.

There's really no other way I can describe it, it's definitely not like pins and needles...

But i'm sorry but I cannot relate much to your personal experience, I haven't experienced any roaring vibration... that isn't to say I'm not feeling vibrations, I just can't describe them as "roaring." Definitely don't hear whispers, but sometimes I imagine I hear them... In any case, thank you for your suggestions.

I only attempt it at night because I figure "Hey, it's time for bed, may as well practice WILDing," but I might try a WILD nap tomorrow.
