I have a question about sleep walking. A guide told me that SP won't occur if you suffer from sleep walking and since no-one in my famiyl has ever sleep walked I began wondering if suffering from sleep walking is actually if you ever experience it. |

Sleep paralysis is sometimes called REM atonia, literally a lack of muscle tone (paralysis) during rapid eye movement sleep (the sleep in which we dream), sleep paralysis is designed exactly to prvent you from getting up and acting out your dreams for real. Sleep walking on the other hand is a sleep phenomenon associated with Non-REM (unconscious, physically restorative) sleep. By definition if you WILD and are successful you will not sleep walk, as your are paralysed. If you fall into unconscious sleep there's a chance of you sleep walking if you have a history of it, but no more chance than you have on any other night that you sleep. WILDing won't cause sleep walking. |

Thanks, I wasn't worred about WILDing causing it. I am asking that I will still we able to get to SP and WILD because I have sleep walked rarely in the past and the guide I read say you have SP unless you suffer from Sleep Walking and I was wondering what that classified as. Whether if you ever experience it or if its on a regular basis. |

Sorry to say the guide you read was probably misinformed if it stated that sleep walking prevented sleep paralysis, if that were the case then sufferers would most likely have nights where they never stopped crashing around their room |

Would you consider around 10 - 12 sleep walks in 16 years normal or ok? |
