      A cry for help. (WILD)

So, I'm fascinated by the WILD technique. I REALLY REALLY want to use it instead of other techniques, because I find directly entering dream state to be the best and most appropriate approach... I'v tried it before In the past, but failed, I think it was because I didn't know what positions to take in, or what way I had to sleep or the times I was suppose to wake up during REM, But... I recently tried it again after reading Mancons In depth WILD guide, And... I failed. I couldn't stay awake, Even though I properly became awake and relaxed at the same time,... I fell asleep about.... 10 minutes in?... I'm scared to try it again in case I fail...again. Can someone please give me some links to a few other good WILD guides on DV or any other website?. And can an experienced WILD user answer these questions PLEASE? I would really appreciate it to shine some light on the matters at hand.

      Questions:
How long do I have to wait until I begin to enter Sleep paralysis?.

Do I have to keep my eyes still as they are closed? or can I still freely move my eyes around in my head?.

How will I know I've entered Sleep Paralysis?

      Thank you and please help.

      1) It depends, I entered it after like 30 minutes but it just varies too much. So many factors
      2) Yeah, my eyes were flickering like crazy. I'm not sure if you have to but I think it would help to just not worry about them and passively view anything you see.
      3) HH (Hypnagogic Hallucinations) and Vibrations etc are good signs. I felt a wave of odd vibrations and pressure and then two female voices. That I knew was SP.

Anything else? I'm not a master but that's just what I know.
      Attempting WILD: 0

Have achieved SP with mild HI previously, haven't attempted much in the past.

How long do I have to wait until I begin to enter Sleep paralysis?.
This varies from time to time. I've reached sleep paralysis in just a few seconds, and another time it took me over 1 hour. I guess it normally takes around 15-40 minutes (as I don't always check the time).

Do I have to keep my eyes still as they are closed? or can I still freely move my eyes around in my head?.
I let my eyes move around on their own. I try not to think too much about them, but I pay attention to what I see in the blackness (swirling colours, images and "short dreams"). This is basically what keeps me conscious until the transition.

How will I know I've entered Sleep Paralysis?
For me, it's a very strong feeling. I always experience intense vibrations, and I hear buzzing sounds in my ears. Trust me, you'll know when you're in sleep paralysis! But, you shouldn't lie there and wait for it to happen. You'll just feel frustrated, and be unable to fall asleep.

First and foremost, if you want to learn how to WILD you must be able to accept failure. Learning this skill involves failing over, and over, and over, and ... Don't be afraid of it.

1: You will enter SP when your mind is sufficiently relaxed. SP can begin in under 60 seconds, or it can take 15 minutes or even longer. There is not set amount of time you have to wait. Time is irrelevant.

2: Your eyes should be doing whatever they normally do when you're trying to fall asleep. No change needed.

3: For most people SP comes with some intense hallucinations. It will be a mental and physical experience unlike anything you've experienced before in waking life. So don't think about whether you're in it or not during your attempt. You'll know when it hits you. And please don't be scared by any stories you read about SP. It's really an exciting and exhilarating experience that will leave with with a greater understanding and appreciation for your own mind.

I had SP by lying on my back for 15mins with my eyes closed thinking about just about nothing. Lately I think it takes too much effort =/ especially if I feel like trying right before I go to sleep at night.

Staying awake seems to be my issue as well. Something that I've found helpful is practicing focusing during the day. What I mean by this is sitting down and willing myself to focus only on counting or my breathing for as long as possible before getting distracted. It takes a lot of willpower to stay focused, but if you can do this then you will have an easier time staying awake by focusing on something.
