      WILD attempts = Sleepless nights?

I try to WILD a few times each month. After about an hour I usually give up and try and go to sleep. But every time it seems like it's almost impossible. I toss and turn until the early hours of the morning and wind up getting at most 2 or 3 hours of sleep. Does this happen to anyone else? Do you know how to cure the post-WILD insomnia?

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

You're trying way too hard. WILDing requires very little effort, you just need to put that little effort into the right place.

When you give up and "try and go to sleep" what exactly are you doing? Whatever it is, this is what you should be doing during your WILD attempt. Attempting a WILD is just like falling asleep normally, only you try to stay aware of your consciousness as you fall asleep. "Watch" yourself fall asleep. Notice how your thought patterns change as you move closer to sleep. But don't focus. Focusing on what you're doing requires too much effort and will prevent you from sleeping.

If you don't feel like you're not getting enough sleeps on the nights you WILD, it's probably best just to change techniques.

How long do you wake up for when preforming WBTB, if you are having problems getting back to sleep you should reduce the time awake significantly.

I have nights like this. Certain supplements make it even harder to sleep. I have the best luck finishing my WILD in my normal sleeping position. I always sleep on my left side. When I WILD, I start on my back, get to the point of extreme relaxation, then roll to my left side. It is like a signal saying, "Time to fall asleep, now." If I stay on my back the whole time, I will never fall asleep.

Are you overly stressed? Some indicators that I've experienced are sore jaw (bruxism), lower back, and neck... those symptoms have kept me up a great many nights.

Make so much sense! I can't EVER sleep on my back, all I can do is get deeply relaxed. So basically when you're about to fall asleep is when you roll over on your side?

Im always afraid to roll over, because I feel so close to sleep paralysis (I can barely feel my arms/legs) and that rolling over will break this. Should I worry about this?

WILD is nearly impossible for most to do at night before sleeping. It is much easier to try in the wee hours of the morning when you are ready to directly enter REM sleep. This would also solve your problems of sleepless nights. Just set an alarm for 6 hours after you think you will fall asleep. When you wake up, briefly get out of bed (not too long) before going back to sleep to attempt a wild. And yes, moving will disallow your body from falling asleep and prevent a WILD.
