Is WILD'ing in the evening possible?

Hi all, as the title says, is it possible to WILD in the evening (say between 6 and 9 pm). I understand it can be very tough when you are going to bed but it's meant to be a bit easier in the afternoon. Would the evening be too late or can it give the same (or similar) results as an afternoon WILD?

I understand that it's best to wait for 5 hours of sleep and wake up then, but unfortunately I have the ability to sleep straight through alarms when I'm sleeping.

Are we talking as tough as trying when you are going to bed? (which I personally find unbelievably difficult and I end up staying still for 2 hours and then getting frustrated)
or just "would take a bit of time"?

That's how i meant it. If you sleep in the usual hours, then 6-9PM is late enough for it to count as "going to bed".

I typically sleep a few hours later than that (I'll typically go to bed at 12am or 1am) so would that take away some of the difficulty?

No. The thing is that when you try WILD immediately after going to bed, it'll be harder to do. I'd say it doesn't change much if you try it some hours earlier...
WILD is the best done after 5 or so hours... or you can even try 3 hours... The point is that you need to sleep before it to make it easier.

      Okay Thanks.
Would it be possible to have it as 1-2 hours sleep first ( I know it's not the reccomended). I can quite often have the urge to sleep in the evening and I can typically be awoken by an iphone alarm after an hour of sleeping in the evening.

It never hurts to try I had LDs after 1 hour 50 minutes of sleep for example... You would probably reach an earlier REM cycle.

Hopefully I'll have one of my evening sleeps tonight and try it out.

Wait, when you say its "tough" or "hard", what exactly does that mean? What is it hard to do? Get into SP?

Personally I would recommend trying WILD when you are naturally feeling tired. Lying aware for 1 to 2 hours really sucks.

Afternoon naps, early morning wakings, late morning naps are all good times to try. If you try it at a time that sleep would not naturally come to you it's unlikely you will achieve meaningful results.

Skipping a sleep period for a day and trying it out the next might work better.
