      Sleep Paralysis Phase

Hello friends, i just made my dream view account today and this is my very first thread. Hopefully, you guys can help me achieve lucidity . anyways... here goes my post XD.

I have not had a lucid dream before, but I have tried to WILD a couple times but all of the attempts were unsuccessful. I have gotten up to the point where I achieved sleep paralysis and my body gets heavy and numb. One of the times, before i entered SP, i heard a tape rewinding/whispers and then i got really scared. I didn't see any images that time though. On the second attempt at WILD, i saw a old school movie screen counting down from 4..3..2..1, but this time, I did not hear anything.

Is it normal to experience different sensual effects every time you get in SP?
If i get into sleep paralysis but do not see any images yet, will opening my eyes put me into the lucid dream?

sorry if there are a few grammar mistakes, i am pretty tired today so i might have made some mistakes

You should not open your eyes in SP.

getting to a dream from SP is really easy, your almost there. Next time you find yourself in sleep paralysis, don't move a muscle, just stay relaxed and keep breathing the exact same and just wait. As melanieb said, keep your eyes closed. Eventually SP will fade away, along with the vibrations/noises etc. Wait another few seconds with your eyes closed and then open them. Most often people will find themselves lying in bed and think that they woke up. But really if you reality check, you'll find that your actually dreaming and it feels just like real life so you couldn't tell the difference :p Good luck

Feeling heavy or numb is not a sign of sleep paralysis nor is it a symptom associated with NREM sleep; that's just what happens when you stop moving for extended periods of time.

      Please read this: http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/sleep-...tified-131380/

It'll clear up many of the misconceptions you have about NREM sleep and sleep paralysis.
