WILD isn't really scary. DEILD is actually the same and much faster (and also much easier if you are lucky). Remember that you will experience scary stuff only if you think you will.
If you try to WILD or DEILD, there is absolutely no place for fear of SP or HH. Being afraid of waking up is disturbing enough. My problems with WILD often result from this worry.
If you still feel any insecurity, start with a different technique. I wish you good luck and great LDs!

The only advice I can give is, be brave.

It is sometimes scary, and you may not be able to do anything about it.
If you are brave enough to face it though, usually it wont turn out as terrifying as you think it is. Mostly it's just weird.

I always ran, or woke up, from the fear. One dream I sat and faced it all the way to the end. Didn't try to make it go away or overpower/trick it into something else. Just faced it. It was scary, but it ended and I woke up.

I haven't had a scary lucid since then.

Good Luck, I hope you get past this hurdle and many happy lucids ^^
