      Spontaneous sleep paralysis

For the longest time I have been practicing the WILD technique for lucid dreaming and have gotten to the point where it's almost second nature. Life's good. But recently I've been randomly getting SP without even trying. Not really a bad thing as far as I'm concerned, just lest effort needed to achieve my goal. I just find it odd. Like the other night I was going to sleep for the first time in the night so I wasn't expecting SP so i just sat there in thought until I started seeing my phone in my head. Interested by the random sight I concentrated on it and right when it became really clear I instantly entered SP and started hearing a really loud, low pitch noise. Almost like dubstep. Surprised, I immediately woke up and actually yelled. So my first thought was to laugh at missing such a wonderfull opportunity and my second thought was how was I getting SP this early in the night? Especially with soo little effort put towards it. IF someone could help me out on this it would be much appreciated.

Dude. That's not SP. It's STS (sleep transition state). SP is a disorder.
This is a Chillstep / Drum & Bass song I'm currently working on: Check it out!

Unless you were completely paralysed - you were not in SP.

The image of the phone, loud noise and any other sound or voice or image you may experience are not SP. They are hypnagogic hallucinations (HH), that are part of normal falling asleep process. They are best observed passively, but they are a good indicator of you getting close to a lucid dream. Sensations and types of entry into WILD.

Sorry if I was unclear but when I said I entered SP I meant it. I couldn't move whatsoever, just like any other time and it startled me to the point where I snapped out of it
. The random image of a phone interested me and when I started to concentrate on it I immediately head the noise and couldn't move.

It's possible that you had true sleep paralysis, but I have never heard anybody just to snap out of it because it scared them. It takes some serious effort to get out of it by either changing your breathing or trying to wiggle your toes and tips of fingers, while yelling for help silently, because of course you can't talk. Most often people just fall asleep again and then wake up without it.

In any case, you don't need SP to WILD. So it doesn't matter, wheather you had it or not, at least for LDing purposes.

But the HH are indication of you getting closer to LD.

I can only recommend the same link I posted above, and this WILD (sageous) tutorial.
