Exclamation Help needed to induce WILD ..tried everything ..all comments welcome

      Hello everyone,

I need some guidance on how to induce a wild.
I read all comments and articles but I cant seem to get there ...

I am able to relax, silence my mind ....after say 20 minutes, ..I feel the following :

      1. A heat wave rolling through my body
      2. A sudden silence in my ears...all sound is muffled .. (far away)

What do I do next ..just lie there ??

Nothing happens ...don't feel paralyses at all apart from the above symtoms?

      I try this always when I take a nap at 16:00 hours ? ...

      What's next ?

      Thanks for the help !..

Make sure you're not waiting for those hallucinations as a marker or your mind might be too active. You can help yourself go into a dream by visualizing your dream environment or trying to roll out of your body.
We were always dreaming of how it was going to be.

I have a very similar experience. It's a near SP state where I have to will myself to move very hard before I can. Warm/numb sensation and muffled sound as well. I invariably become quite uncomfortable and end up rolling over and falling into normal sleep. I also have a problem where my eyes flutter open when the numb sensation comes and I can't fall asleep when I have to keep consciously contracting my eyelids.

I don't want to try to tell you an exact time that it takes, because then you yould put focus on that.

I have to tell you thought that if you are not near REM and unless you are a really expierienced meditator, you have to know that it takes more than 20 minutes, perhaps 30-40 minutes to enter a theta brain state which is just before the delta (dream) state. But if someone observed you as you did your attempt, yes you would just lay there, but the key is to keep a calm and a non-judging and analyzing mind.

Because it's when you do that your mind naturally enters the theta state (ideal for intent and affirmation) but relaxation of the mind and body speeds up that process and makes it easier.

And the hard truth is that, if you are not able to maintain a calm mind as you lucid dream, you can't expect a calm dream either. Just think about this, everything you think in a dream doesn't become, it already is! So if you are worried you will wake up, you'll tense up and wake up. If you are afraid that you wont be able to fly, you wont. If you are calm and confident that you are in control of the dream and it will be stable, it will be so.

The sensation you feel after 20 minutes is the sensations of the alpha which is nothing more but, sensations of your relaxed body like small vibrations perhaps a tone in the ear and so on. Many beginners are not used to their relaxed body so they think that it's the transitional state, and well when you first experience the transitional sate you wont hesitate because it's the same kind of sensations but a hundreds of times more intense.

But my advice for you is to learn to relax both the body and the mind and maintain awareness, because as soon as you do that, that is conscious sleep.

To counter the obstacles on the way, thoughts like "I don't want to do this anymore!", "My back itches!", "I feel stupid" and just observe them and not judge yourself, is the practise of meditation. Slowly and steady you will go torwards a state of mind with less thoughts and a calm and relaxed mind and when you stop looking for the dream the dream will find it's way to you.

This is the most advanced kind of lucid dreaming because it takes a little effort and you need to have the will to actually go through this process, but if you want to start out with something easier where you let your body go through the whole relaxation process and you start out at the transition instantly, then you should look up DEILD. You wake up near REM and will just feel in your mind that it is easier to transition or to say what you actually do, it's easier to switch your focus of awareness.

      Good luck!

Someone told me "the key to having a WILD is not to focus on having a WILD and just focus on the moment"

Hope that's of some use to you, I still can't get a WILD to work.

Try a sleep mask. I had that problem a bit too, but the pressure of the sleep mask made my eyelids stop jumping around.

Well, I am an absolute noob to WILDing but I had success on my first try, thanks to KingYoshi. Basically, DO NOT wait for HI, SP, etc. Simply observe your thoughts. Isochronic tones will help here as they help you relax, and they give you something to focus on. If you are waiting for something to happen, it'll take much, much longer, as your mind wants you to stay awake in case you miss it.

Also, it's fine to roll over- imagine that you will roll straight into a dream and roll over whenever you feel like it. Preferably every ten minutes. This was how I got my first WILD- it took 40 minutes or so, but it was well worth it.
(I did not use WBTB, however, I have never gotten a WILD from WBTB)

I had a very short WILD yesterday with the help of galantamine+choline from ADN. Now I understand what if feels like, you have to fall asleep but its weird because you maintain a level of consciousness (like 30%?) during the process. I remember hearing voices whispering in my ear and the sensation of someone sitting on top of me or hugging me from behind (I'm pretty sure this part was SP). Then I wanted to get comfortable and reposition my sleeping position, so I tried to dig my head deeper into the pillows, at this point I was already dreaming but had not realized it yet. Eventually my dream slowly started to build it self but then it collapsed due to a sudden loud noise. I woke up amazed TBH, WILD's are very different from DILD's, and a lot more interesting.

My guess, OP, is too much mental focus. You're probably thinking and analyzing the sensations way too much to be able to actually fall asleep, which is, keep in mind, what you're trying to do first and foremost.
