okay so about wild, for it to suceed you HAVE to be in your REM cycle ? like use the WBTB method ? people say naps are good time for WILD too but you dont have 5-6 hours of sleep of REM in that time, how is that possible ? |

While I am not sure how it is possible, but I can attest that one can successfully WILD from an afternoon nap because I have done it successfully once. I suspect that just like with everything else with LD the "rules" are not hard, so the 5-6 hours of sleep before WILD attempt does not mean that a WILD attempt will never succeed if one does not have 5-6 hours of sleep already but rather it is more likely to succeed if one already has that much sleep (soft rule). Also at time of afternoon nap one is generally less tired than when going to bed in the evening. If I understand correctly, the more tired you are, the greater the chance you will enter deep sleep when falling asleep, whereas if you are already better rested (but not too well rested because then you would stay awake), if you are more rested but not too rested then you might start with REM sleep and enter a dream right away. |

You may say I'm a dreamer.

No, you don't need to be in REM to wild, but it would work much better if you are well rested before trying it, hence WBTBs or naps are recommended. |

The closer to REM you are, the better, it's easier to WILD when going straight to REM because it's simpler to keep awareness, and while it's possible to have dreams in NREM, unless you have done really good amount of practice with it they will not be as vivid as REM dreams. |
