      Transition waking up, not sleeping

      Hi there,

Yesterday I discovered that what I though were transitions when trying to WILD, were in fact transitions while waking up. Even if I know WILD is the hardest way (or so they say), I try doing it from time to time, with some earplugs and with plenty of time (weekends) after a good sleep. Rest of the days I just try to DILD or DEILD as I wake up at night.

In any case, the last 3-4 WILDs I tried after a good night sleep (6-7 hours), I managed to relax, feel my arms heavy to the point I just can't feel them at all, etc... and then I think I'm entering some transition, that ends up in a FA (that I catched a couple times), but I have time for nothing as I just wake up and realize I was asleep for almost 2 hours... Which I guess means that I just fell asleep, maybe dreamed (I don't manage to remember), and then "transition" on exit. Funny thing is that this isn't a normal behaviour in my sleep. I mean, it only happens when I try to WILD.

I'm not sure if this is normal, but it's starting to get frustrating because everytime it happens I assume "I finally did it", and last time it's been a bit scary. I know what SP is, I know about the effects on the transition, so I just relax and become an spectator when they happen, but this last time I started watching lots of images changing really fast in front of me (some of them very clear, with full color), hearing sounds as electricity, and screams, and finally seeing my room with some strange shadows wandering around, to a point that it lasted so long that I just was trying to wake up or either enter the dream, but wasn't able to do any of both. I couldn't move my dream body (who knows if I even know how to do that anyway...), and either my real body, but I could feel myself laying on bed.

Then the thought of all that being real started to grow inside, and even if it wasn't "panic", I felt something like "allright.. I have to get out of here NOW". So I tried to reach my light switch (just behind my pillow) but I'm not sure if I couldn't find it, or didn't even move my arm because I was paralyzed. In any case, I then woke up and found I wasn't even in that position.

So, my questions here would be: Is there a way to use these situations to enter a lucid dream, or it's just that my REM phase is at its end?
Also, could this be somehow normal on the learning process or, even normal if you success WILD for example (which could mean I had a LD and I forgot about it...).

      Thanks!

      Hi again,

Sorry to bring this up again, but just wanted to update to tell that it's still happening

Tonight (sunday to monday) I tried to relax and either do WILD, or enter a dream and go lucid (DILD), after 4-5am. I constantly woke up from time to time, every 15-20mins, and I had like 4-5 fake awakenings, preceded by a transition feeling (lots of imagery, a falling feeling...). In all of them I though "I make it, I'm entering a dream", but seconds later I remembered my "exit-transitions", and remembered that I was dreaming just a moment ago. It was like.. "Oh.. f*... I'm not entering, I'm exiting...", and I would wake up to what I knew it was a FA, that lasted only a couple seconds.

I managed to use one of those FAs to stand up, trying to stabilize the dream, but as always I just woke up. Anyway from 4am to 7am all I had were small LDs inside those small FAs, and many transitions, but none of them (that I know of) were from wake to sleep, but just the oposite...

I know it's a hard question to answer but.. any advices? I'll try tonight again, but I'm just afraid the same will happen...

      Thanks, regards.
