I've been trying FILD DEDICATEDLY for some time now but it has not yielded ANY results i've had only 1 LD and that too due to a realisation in the dream . I've had 1 strange dream in a dream. Should i continue FILD or switch to other methods. |

More information please? How how exactly have you been unsuccessful with FILD, have you been unable to fall asleep or have you fallen asleep unconsciously? In case of the latter.. FILD is an auxiliary method for WILD, a technique which requires a strong sense of self awareness in order to remain mentally awake while the body goes to sleep. Wiggling your fingers and stuff like that can help, but if the main ingredient, awareness, is missing, then the WILD is most likely to fail. |

I'd say first work on dream recall and reality checks before you jump in to FILDing, I know how you feel I'm kind of the same way, I want results now, but it's far more worth it to practice this things and in time you will definitely start seeing results. |

I think the prospective memory is different, but I also think Naiya's method downplays the importance of WBTB for many lucid dreamers. Because Naiya's is meant to be performed before bed at night, it more heavily relies on autosuggestion, and the hope that your intention carries you through 70 some minutes of NREM sleep, and whatever cycles of sleep you pass through after that. LaBerge's method emphasizes WBTB, but also emphasizes the single-pointedness of mind needed to carry most DILDers through even a minute or so of NREM. It is also designed to punch through NREM when it is thinnest. So I think it is mostly a matter of timing and execution. Also, since Naiya's method does not require simultaneously making an affirmation while also visualizing, some dreamers will be drawn to its simplicity. |
