      Anxiety During WILD Attempt

Im trying to induce a WILD, but whenever I wake up in the middle of the night after around 6 hours of sleep, I am not able to get the scared feelings of sleep paralysis of out my system, and I think this is preventing me from getting into the hypnogogic stage. I never have experienced SP before so Im not sure what to expect. I have generalized anxiety and I am terrified of the idea of hallucinations. Can anyone shed some light on this and what the best thing for me to do is?
      Thanks

      Jonah!

When you feel anxious, just assure yourself that you're completely safe, take some deep breaths, and relax.

Your focus should be on your anchor until you're dreaming. Many times you won't even notice the hypnogogia when you induce a WILD.

      It's alright Jonah!

You don't have to worry at all about anything and it's all normal. I have bad anxiety but once you get your first WILD it's nice to know it's not at all bad.

      Hi there johah827

As the other 2 have said its all cool and no need to worry But yes I know we still do worry even though there's no reason to - it's just the usual thing of focusing on the correct thing ... No need to expect anything bad at all, if you can get that then you will be half way there already

It's not even scary. Most of the time you completely miss SP.

Usually for me it feels like I'm spinning in the bed and then I fall through. Feels kinda like a rollercoaster.

There was a thread for this yet I can't remember where, but like Phoebus said, sleep paralysis should not be a goal when trying to WILD. Sleep paralysis often starts when the dream starts, so you might not experience SP during your WILD attempt.

I have never experienced sleep paralysis before, yet I have have done WILDs before. So I can say, depending on the person there is a decent chance you might never experience. Also SP is harmless anyway, since basically your body is just going to sleep. Are you afraid of sleeping? If no, there is no reason to be afraid of SP. Tell yourself that and it should help.
