    Morning Snuggle

Last night’s dreams were perfect! I was just hanging out with family and friends at some of my favorite spots, and having a good ole time. None of these dreams were lucid except the false awakening just before my alarm went off. I’ll describe this memorable LD (DILD – Dream Induced Lucid Dream).

I was lying in bed asleep when my wife came and woke me up (in the dream - false awakening). She sat on the bed beside me, to the right. It was morning, because I could see the sunlight around the curtains, and through the bedroom door. There was another woman standing at the foot of my bed doing something by the TV stand. I thought maybe she was one of my wife’s friends. I told her I must look like a weirdo with my CPAP on. She said, “Oh, I didn’t even notice, my husband wears one too.” It was little embarrassing. The woman then walked out of the room, and then my two kids appeared on the bed. My beautiful daughter was lying to the left of me, and my son was sitting beside my feet. I looked at my daughter and said, “Daughter is that you?” She replied, “Hi dad, yeah it’s me!” I became instantly Lucid. I told her I loved her, and she told me she loves me too. I then snuggle her right in close with my right arm (lying on left side). She then said, “You make me feel so loved and _?_?_?” I said, “Daughter you’re whispering, I can’t hear you. What do you say?” I continued to snuggle her, then she said the same thing, but I still couldn’t hear what she said at the end of her sentence because she was whispering. Her whisper became quieter as she got further down the sentence. Her voice was very sincere and loving. I then woke from the dream because my alarm went off. What a perfect way to start the day!

Aww, what a nice dream! Great way to start the day indeed.

Hey, I didn't know that you used a CPAP! My dad uses a CPAP as well and I was never sure how much this might interfere with dream work (if I ever managed to get him interested in pursuing it.) Other members have asked about this from time to time as well and I've always wondered. It's great to see how much success you've had with it... clearly it is no barrier to lucidity!

      Congratulation on the nice lucid!

It does actually show up in false awakenings and even OBE's. It's a bit of a pain. A couple of times it even came with me in the dream, hanging from my face. Another time on an OBE, when I was about to leave my bedroom, I went back to adjust because it was leaking an hissing. I stood over my body and grabbed onto it and was able to move it so it wasn't hissing. Now that was freaky!

Wow, that leaking/hissing OBE sounds crazy. IWL it never leaks or hisses, right?

I have a slight hang-up about interacting with my sleeping body on the rare occasions that I see it. I know that it's just a DC, but man it seems so strange. One of these days I'll get the guts to wake "him" up and ask him to come along with me for the lucid. Anyway, it's cool that you don't have this hang-up!

Yeah, that CPAP mask often leaks. I gotta loose some weight to get off that dang thing. The first time I interacted with myself, after I discovered 2nd me was there, I guess I looked pretty hilarious because all the dream figures were laughing at what was unfolding. Next LD dry spell I'll have to post some of these old LD's. Including adjusting that CPAP mask. Have you talked to another dream you too?

I haven't done a ton of talking with my doubles, but I've had several encounters with doppelgangers in my lucids, some of them quite bizarre. I've never had physical contact with one that I can recall. The fact that you could do that super-realistic adjustment of the CPAP mask is very cool!

Hi Canis, I just did a wiki on doppelgangers, yikes! lol! I'll have to copy my journal entry for the first time I interacted with myself (when I'm on 'dry spell'). The only thing my double said to me was that I drink too much! I can't argue with myself! AC/DC playing in the background right now, 'Have a drink on me'. Double lol. Cheers. BTW, a half glass of dark red wine before bed really helps kick up the LD's (for me). Anymore than that, then I have a hard time remembering my dreams. Oh, also a few puffs off a disgusting old cigar also helps, but not too much. I know there's a lot of young people on this site - Don't read this! You can do this LD technique only when you're an old grumpy, gray haired man, like me.

LOL. Good comment, Tihiti. I've never tried pre-bed alcohol, but I know that Xanous has been known to consume "vodka slushie drinks" pre-bed for the REM rebound, heh heh... And while I'd also never encourage anyone to fiddle with nicotine, its undeniably effective at stimulating the brain's acetylcholine receptors.

Spoiler for Cover your eyes, kids!:

And yes, can't argue with oneself nor with AC/DC! Happy lucid dreaming to you, and to all of "those about to rock".
