Does writing your dreams down hours after you wake up still help?

Ive wondered this for a while because most the time I dont remember my dreams till like a couple hours later on in the day. So I was thinking, if you remember a dream like 1-3 hours or more after you wake up, does it STILL help if you write it down?? I had this happen to me again today, I didnt remember my dream till 2 hours after getting up so I wrote it down anyway... So yeah, do you guys think that it still helps even if you write it later on in the day??

I would say yes. See the good side, if anything it will make dreams stick to long-term memory which is good.

I generally journal between 14-60 hours after waking up... yep.

When i awake shortly after a dream, I walk back through it in my mind to remember it. I don't journal until the morning, and if I don't have time then, I write short phrases, and journal later in the day.

Its better to think about why, if you remember, now remembering tends to fade with most experiences in dreams, thats why its better to reflect than document first, youll likely not get it right just righting it down.
