I need an answer, or maybe confirmation (about Mindfulness)

Wouldn't mindfulness increase your general awareness which would lead to automatically reminding you to do your other LD techniques? I had this paranoid thought that what if mindfulness would just "steal" a lot of your focus/mental energy/willpower in order to maintain it and make you forget about other things. But it doesn't really make sense because even if it did, then you would still be mindful, and still automatically remember your other tasks, right?
Sorry if it's confusing, hope you understand what I mean, I just want a confirmation that mindfulness can't be bad for you. Can it?

Mindfulness won't become a detrimental activity for you or anybody else. It teaches awareness, and you cannot be aware and unaware at the same time. Becoming aware is all it takes and all there is to mindfulness. The thing is, mentally forcing awareness isn't mindfulness. Mindfulness is the passive observation of any external and internal stimuli that you experience. Forcing something is counterproductive and deviates completely from the practice of mindfulness. Hope this helps.

Being mindful removes negativity from your life, pretty much, as well as removing a lot of cluttered thoughts. Cluttered thoughts is poison for lucid dreaming (especially for MILD and WILD techniques) so being mindful helps a ton!

Normally, you have all these thoughts racing through your head. Ideas, opinions, fears, happiness, plans, stories, upcoming tests, groceries, I don't know, all kinds of things. Most of these thoughts are unnecessary or currently irrelevant. So when I meditate, I only focus on my breathing, I count my slow breaths while feeling them, I ignore the thoughts in my head. After a few minutes (5-10), you notice that a few minutes ago your head was like a freakin' beehive, the bees being your thoughts, zooming around like crazy from one place to another, you know? But now, it has calmed down, allowing you to only think thoughts that you need, you have just uncluttered yourself. Do you understand? You become clear-headed.

Being mindfull does not take any extra energy or willpower, because you don't have all these irrelevant thoughts in your head to distract you, you just think more clearly so it actually gives you more energy. You should try it, it's very simple. Just relax, don't lay down because somehow it doesn't work when laying down, you can lean your back against something though, just sit straight. Breath deeply, through your nose or mouth it doesn't matter, just breathe as deeply as you can. Now count slowly to 100, or count 50 slow breaths, whatever you like. When thoughts come up, try not to engage in them, just focus your attention to your breaths and counting. Now open your eyes, and if you still don't know what I am talking about, ask again and I will try to explain it again

Lol I have been meditating for many months, I know how to do it and the benefits of it. Indeed meditation is awesome, ideally we would maintain that mindfulness state we obtain during meditation throughout the day while doing our daily activities. Thanks for the replies, I'll try to incorporate mindfulness into my schedule as much as I can, since it can only be beneficial.

All mindfulness is is allowing your meditative practice to enter other parts of your waking life. You still need to make state awareness part of your practice (or the whole practice, really) otherwise you will still be fooled by the dream (and reality, for that matter).
