Question Does this count as a LD?

So last night I had a strange dream but not sure if it falls into the lucid category. It may (slightly) by definition but personally I'm not sure if I should count it or not.

      The Dream:

I was standing in a line in front of a vending machine. It appeared as if I was in a elementary school and I went back in time about 20 years. Myself and everyone around me looked like we were all maybe 10 years old. A black girl was in front of me and for no reason at all I punch/slapped her right across the face and she took off running and crying.

I had no idea why I did that and even in the dream I thought that didn't make a lot of sense. I wondered what was wrong with me and why I did that. I went ahead and got what I wanted out of the machine and heard the little girls mom that I just hit yelling. She was pissed and coming in my direction. I thought it serves me right and I deserve whatever is about to happen.

The mom approaches me and before she has a chance to say anything I ask her if we can speak in private. At that point I just wanted to apologize and take my ass chewing (and possibly ass kicking) away from everyone else. The mom agreed and we walked outside together. All of a sudden I got the urge to run and took off as soon as we went outside.

My coordination felt weak and I could only run so fast but the mom was even slower, she did stay on me though. I could stay ahead but I couldn't lose her and I wore down. I panicked and I don't remember thinking it was a dream but I just remember thinking I need to wake myself up to get out of this and I purposely tried to wake myself up until I did for real.

Then of course I was pissed at what a good opportunity I just blew.

      Was that a lucid dream?

If you realized you were dreaming, then yes, it was a lucid dream 😀

Before I knew what lucid dreaming was I remember on occasion I'd have dreams where I knew everything would be okay when I woke up. From my recollection they were all nightmares of one sort or the other. I also remember I didn't have any ability to deviate from the dream whatsoever. I guess they were lucid dreams or at least semi-lucid or just a very low level of lucidity, but I suspect some form of LD.

Lucidity is generally experienced on a continuous spectrum of awareness from quite faint to very high, but yes, to meet the definition of lucid dreaming you have to know that you are dreaming.
