If you're asking this question to get a sense of how long it will take you, I wouldn't worry about it. The stronger you focus your attention on the counting, the sooner you will escape your physical body. If you sit there wondering how long it's going to take, your mind will wander and you probably won't enter SP.

I counted up to 700 one time with a fountain of spit pouring out of my mouth but still trying not to move. I gave up shortly after that and felt wake induced lucid dreaming was hopeless for me. thankfully it was before I realized that you had to sleep first before WILDING.

Thats exactly how NOT to WILD.

SP is something you either get or not, most likely not. Your goal is lucid dream, nothing else. Don't wait for SP. When you falling asleep normally, you do swalow, why shouldn't you swallow now. It may set you back a few minutes, but you will be back on your way to lucid in no time. And yeah, WILDing without prior sleep is futile.

Just to clarify, my reply was not a response specifically to intheworldofnim's post, but in general, for everybody who is trying to achieve WILD. If this sounded rude, I apologise.
