I played the violin back in gradeschool so i can read some music sheets but playing instruments aren't really my strong point. I write songs but have no singing talent at ALL, it's kinda sad actually lol. Just recently my computer got a virus that erased my whole hard drive and i don't remember most of my songs word for word... so there goes 2 years worth of songs. I also have an acoustic guitar but haven't really gotten around to learn how to play it properly.

My dad used to say that you play until you "callous" your fingers, but I don't know if I can keep it up that long, because it really hurts when you try to play a song even for a minute.
It depends. It's more painful for some people than for others. You could have old strings, in which case they'd likely be tarnished and possible corroded (not the right word, but hopefully you know what I mean). You could try and get lighter strings, or bring yourr guitar in and get the action lowered. Or you could just fight through the pain. I'm at the point now where I can play for hours and not feel a thing on my fingertips, and that's just from playing all the time.

Worst case scenario, just buy a nylon string guitar. They are way easier on the fingertips, and many guitar classes start their students on them since it allows them to learn fingering and strumming without the distraction of sore fingers.

I'd love to play an album, or even just singles of yours for others to listen to.
I'm not sure if you were talking to me or not, but if so, you can download any of the songs on my soundcloud (MWG Music's sounds on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free) and use them. And if you'd like, I can get some of my youtube originals onto soundcloud as well.

Cool, well you can download anything from my soundcloud and use it. I'll see about getting some of my youtube originals on soundcloud as well.

Edit: So I uploaded 6 more originals to my soundcloud, just pick whichever you like.

Can I call myself a musician? I can only say I am addicted to music, and I have no idea why I do. I play guitar, bass, piano, drums, and sing. Music is a hard business. It takes a lot of practice, especially some are very boring, like rudiments for drums, or remembering all the notes of your guitar...I practice 3 hours everyday for piano, 2 hours for guitar as now it's near summer holiday. How about you guys?

And anyone likes prog rock? My name PinkCrimson is generated from Pink Floyd and King Crimson.

I've played music all my life, started off on piano then moved onto guitar and got more serious, now I also play drums and do a bit of backing vocals.
      If you want to hear what my stuff's like then go here;

I play guitar in this band: https://www.facebook.com/Fixturesofficial - indie, post rock, math

I play drums in this band: https://www.facebook.com/dearkittyuk - garage, disco

Some solo/collab stuff is on my soundcloud: ghrenn's sounds on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free - whatever

I'm into most genres of music and like write music from mellow minimalist post rock styles through to electro stuff.

I used to play guitar, but ever since I got my hands on a welding torch and a wrench, well, I've been having too much fun with mechanics and I guess I just stopped caring/ playing. I do plug around every now and then but my skill has totally disappeared. I used to be able to rip up the guitar playing Songs from Death & Gamma Ray, but now I can't even play "Ride the lightning" by Metallica anymore :/

HOWEVER I can fix your engine though, if you're ever having troubles XD

      Meep.

i sing and play guitar. i have a handful of originals and play lots of covers (beatles, classic rock, 90s rock mostly). my myspace has about 4 originals and several covers, and my soundcloud has a few originals that i recorded live with my buddy in his room one day- just to get them laid down. the myspace are mostly live studio takes i used to make a demo a couple of years ago.

there are alot of tracks, but daydream, showcase, and waiting for sarah are 3 of my better originals (based on outside opinions).

I've played trumpet for ~7 years now and play mainly jazz, but also in my school's wind ensemble and marching band. I've dabbled in piano and know my way around many percussion instruments, if you know what i mean
