      Musicians... any out there?

      Hello dreamviewers,

I haven't seen a thread out there for musicians in a while,
I create some music on my laptop and keyboard which you can find here:
      mode.eL's sounds on SoundCloud

But more importantly, I love listening to other peoples music, if you have a soundcloud or anything I'd love to hear some fellow dreamers songs.
      Peace

I play the keyboard... somewhat... learning to... :yumdumdoodledum:
      Loaf and Raspberry like this.
'The petals dance through the wind,
The crimson blood shimmers on the snow,
The shattered heart weeps of hidden sorrow.
And over a pure white sky,
      rises a black moon.'

      ^_^ Hear hear.

I've also been trying to learn the piano, self teaching. After 3 months of playing around on the piano I've managed to learn these beautiful songs from Dustin O'Halloran. Here are some videos I Googled of the songs...

      Opus 23 (almost learned entirely)
Prelude 2 (fully learned and refining my ability to play it)

I can't read music yet, and who knows, my hand positioning might not be great. But I am able to play music with emotion and sensitivity. Thanks to the Internet I watch how-to's and spend a few hours watching people play and then doing it myself. Works like a charm. My friend plays piano, she wants to aid in my progress. c:

I just hate lessons. I hate making playing music a chore, or being pressured into playing. Not great with playing in front of strangers either. :/

I can play only basic stuff and with some emotion. Getting more serious tho.

I've just had a lot of time on my hands, is all. You can achieve the same of course. And there are far more advance pieces I've yet to be able to touch. :i

I took piano lessons for most of my childhood so I can read music pretty well, I used to play ragtime quite well but now I'm in college, without a real piano, so I've shifted my focus. I have a fender rhodes keyboard and a laptop that I make music with, and I really enjoy doing that. I've been influenced heavily by the LA beat scene(Flying lotus) and I just do whatever I want.

Loaf! those songs are awesome! never heard of them before! now I wish I had a real piano again, haha, my rhodes is good for jazz and experimental stuff and that's about it.

I know it's super cliche, but...
      I sing.
      I sing very well.

I have played electric guitar for about twelve years, and I'm pretty good. I play a Les Paul.
I wouldn't consider myself an expert guitar player though.
I'm much more comfortable with the abilities I have with my voice.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

I play the ukulele, mandolin, banjo and accordion. I can play guitar but find it to be boring compared to the other instruments I have accumulated over the years. I can sing a bit too but not nearly as good as sloth.

I am one. I play Piano, most strings, and the Xylophone. I mainly play the piano and I have for 2 years, but I already best most of the 6th or 7th years, as stated in my bio.

I've been trying, I have the base of a song on the piano but its not a long process to refine the sound and make it... something other than ear rape haha.

It seems I can play like, anything I pick up.

I play guitar, piano, drums, recorder, bass.. And I'm capable of singing.

I played saxaphone for 2 years (like 4 years ago xD)
and I've replaced piano with guitar, which I have been playing for 2 and a half years ish and I love it <3

Yeah, I play the jazz trumpet, piano, guitar, and harp. Sadly though I have never attempted to record it. Any idea on how I could start?

I've been playing the piano for about 8 years now. Just finished up Beethoven's Sonata Opus 10 No. 2, here's some person I don't know playing it - here. I've played Saxophone for...6 years I think, and I've just started trying to sing...Phantom of the Opera songs. heh, probably the wrong stuff to start on, but it's to interesting not to try. I like "Outer Doors" cousinsteve. I've tried a bit to compose, but never really wrote anything down.

Yeah, I can definitely call myself a musician.
      Let me think a minute...
I've been playing drums for almost eight years now, and I'm a natural at it (my drum instructor's words, not mine). I'd challenge just about anyone to the title of best drummer here, and would not contest someone being better than me. I'd like to see that, actually, since the only person I've met that can clearly beat my finesse on drums is my instructor.
I play piano with lots of emotion, but I don't have nearly enough practice in to match that.
I sing, and I love to. I'd put my singing not quite as high as my drumming, but I know that I have plenty of high range (I have hit and held a high Ab while singing along with a Bride number), and my stage presence is worth it's weight in... wait a minute. That analogy doesn't work here. oops.
Last but not least, I also write music (songs) in a style that i can only describe as... (what was it again? Oh, yeah)... Alternate 80's epic synth metal. Or the other style: Guitar-based ballads transfused into piano music. Whooo.
I'll be learning guitar later this summer and on in life.
Soo....anybody want to help me record?

Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week; you have a schedule, a calendar... Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.

Been playing piano for 6 years now. But it would be so much better if I didn't do exams with it for school. I prefer taking my time, going through phases with it (from very little/none to playing so much the skin at the side of my thumbs peel and kinda... flatten). But my piano teacher's a bitch. She gives me classical, which I don't like, and expects a bit too much of me. I can learn it fast when I try, which she wants all the time, but as I say I go through phases. Would also help if she gave me music I like. It'll be easier when I finish school and self-teach myself from then on.

I also sing, but don't take it too seriously. My family are always going on and on at me to sing for them, but I get quite shy. I sing at school for my music exam and for my friends, that I don't mind, but I can't seem to sing for family.

For my music courses I also need to compose. I started a dorian piece of music yesterday. It sounds weird because it's not in a specific key and I can't use sharps or flats. 16 bars i've got at the moment, 3/4 timing, just a basic melody with a couple of chords thrown in. That's all I've got at the moment, but give it a week and i'll hopefully have a higher worthy piece that my teacher will approve of!

^Pretty good. I just can't do two parts at once. I've been taking guitar lessons for a little over 3 years now, and I've gotten fairly good. Tomorrow is my last day of exams, so I should have some videos on youtube soon.
