Interesting concept... I bet there is some truth to it. I will lucid dream tonight! |

"Dreams are real while they last. Can we say more of life?" - Havelock Ellis
On average, I usually have one LD a week, so one a day sounds amazing to me. |
Wow im watching this and it's really good. |
This may be a stupid question, but.. Would your sub-conscious actually understand what you mean when you say "I lucid dream" or "I'm a lucid dreamer"? Or should one be a little more specific and go for things that would _lead_ to a lucid dream, such as "I check my reality" or "i'm aware" etc? |

Awesome! Tried this technique last night and got my first LD for 2 weeks! |
Tried this again last night. Woke up with no LD. Maybe my subconscious hates me? |
Tried this last night and no success yet although i admit there was a bit of doubt. I'll try again tonight but more confident and post results |
The point is triggering the subconscious to do the work for you by setting a goal. You can also write down and describe your goal to make it clear. Since lucid dream is just an empty concept by itself you have to feel excited, when you say I lucid dream every night for example. Feel the way you would when lucid, feel powerful, confident, happy about it. Visualisation can help you aswell like in the MILD technique. Imagine yourself being lucid, accomplishing the goal you set. If you are really positive and you trust yourself it should be effortless. |

THANK YOU SilverBullet! |

Here's another way of explaining this technique. I don't know if any of you read any of the Carlos Castaneda books, but they have a way to achieve almost anything. It's called "intent". |
I failed today. I think I wanted it too much...couldn't clear my mind before falling asleep, which made me feel frustrated. |
Don't be tricked by words. It's not quite like not caring. The opposite, the goal must have high significance to you. The point is that you don't have to become obsessive about it, you don't have to force it. You need clarity of the goal, strong intention, perseverance, patience and confidence. Just relax, clear your mind. Then state what you want like you already have it. Don't project it into the future for instance "I will become lucid every night". You ALWAYS become lucid every night. That's the attitude |

The Brain is much more than we think, I've realized that you can actually reprogram it to do what you want maybe not tomorrow or today but suddenly it will, It is your body, It is your brain and It is your dreams you just need to know how to control that, I'm pretty sure is not imposible to LD every night |
So wait, I could basically tell my mind with complete confidence: |
saying "I can lucid dream" won't change anything since anyone can lucid dream. Say "I lucid dream", and since your subconscious doesn't know time that well you should say "I remember my dreams", "I am aware". Adding the word "will" to it completely ruins it's effectiveness. |
I still struggle with convincing myself :/ |

"No... my avatar isn't changing. You're changing."
I definitely get this, but it's easier said than done! It's like wanting something with all your heart but at the same time being ok if it never happens. Quite tricky. I think why it worked so well the first two times was because I was already in a relaxed/confident state of mind. |

I don't know much if actually what you're saying is the point of all of this, since everyone can do that, it's just words... |
As far as words and mantras, I think it's probably a matter of what you believe will work. I'm sure there are people who say "I will have a lucid dream tonight" and are successful, as long as they believe it will work. I usually use present tense because that’s what all the self-help/mind power books I’ve read say you should do. |
Actually, talking to yourself or writing something down is the best way to speak to your subconscious. That part isn't really if you believe it will work or not. It's pretty much a fact. If you want to say something like "If I see a dragon flying over my house don't be stupid brain that's a dream..." It's not very useful since dreams can be a perfect duplication of waking life sometimes. Your subconscious isn't anything like your rational conscious you have. It makes up what you are, your personality. Before you go making assumptions like that you should get more experience with this stuff. Also, that is the point, this is supposed to be something everyone can do, not only a few people. If you want to talk to your subconscious shouldn't you use communication? As in words? |

If you think this won't work, or if your skeptical, then no, it will not work. If you believe this is the way to have lucid dreams, and you trust it, then you will have lucid dreams. Like in the matrix video that mirror posted, let go of doubt, fear, dis-beleife, free your mind. |

Okay, so last night I told my self: |
