Thread: I'm not even trying anymore...

I just dont seem to try to lucid dream anymore......... can you help me??

What's your reason for not trying any more? Like, simply losing interest, too stressful, etc?

Why not? Trying is the most important part! Just dedicate yourself to doing so, even force yourself! Eventually the techniques will become habit.

Ey, just lettin' everybody know, I too am not trying anymore. It's because I just moved to a new environment/house. I used to have my own bed, but now, I need to sleep beside me brother who then, kicks like crazy while sleepin. Plus, the house is near a main highway so I never get the chance to do WILD again.

losing interest. I haven't even realized it, but for the past few days i havent used All Day Awareness technique at all, nor have i went on the LD part of the site ever, NOR has an LD thought entered my mind....

Don't give up... I know I won't. I haven't had many lucids myself, but that doesn't take away my aspiration. Just keep thinking about the awesome adventures awaiting in your mind and the rewards you can reap from them.

If you don't really benefit from (or care much about) motivating yourself or trying to be confident to get lucid, you could just write or type out plainly what it is you need to do... I think this is helpful if you're more logical than emotional like I am.

If I haven't been lucid recently it's often because I was too sleepy to care and went to sleep rather than even begin my first step for a WILD. I'll then write down the specific things I'm going to do so it's on my mind and it's a plan rather than a vague intention. These things might be something like "...then I'll get back in bed, meditate for ten minutes, then turn onto my side..."

So if thinking about how great a lucid dream will be doesn't have much of an effect, try to write out the steps you plan on carrying out a few times during the day. I guess you could do this sometime early in the morning to keep this on your mind before your REM stage, too.

Listen, i felt the exact same thing when i felt like giving up, i felt like it was becoming impossible to have 1 Lucid Dream, even though everyone else had it lucky. but i still didnt give up,. and neither should you.
lucid dreaming is not only fun, but emotionally energetic, and nostolgic, euphoric and something totally amaizing, everyone should have atleast 1 good ass lucid dream before they die. lucid dreaming is a break away from everything limited inside your life,. you can do anything there. you can have powers, you can fly, you can visit magical worlds, have a fantastic adventure, seek help, gain knowledge, share dreams, and your creativity runs wild in dreams, so you can have an amaizing adventure, but you didnt plan it, so you dont know what to expect, which is the exciting part, maybe theres a dragon at the end of that cave? maybe that bridge will break if i go on it. you must not give up. YOU can lucid dream, no matter what you think, it's too easy for you to lucid dream., you just need to find the right method, the right inspiration, and confidence. and i'l guarantee in about 2 weeks, you'l get back on track.

Your interest will come back, but will your skill have deteriorated from lack of trying in the meantime?

We phase in an out with stuff. I would like to practice martial arts, public speaking, or have conversations between my id and superego, so that my superego can win, and I can achieve more discipline in life. I might go in to my past and relive certain experiences differently.

I might experiment with romantic stuff with my fiancee. Etc...

Lots of benefits.

Dont just not try, but try in a creative less boring way some how. And worse case scenerio, don't let your skill deteriorate because you will need it later.

Think like that and you'll never have one. You have to maintain a positive attitude, I remember my dry spell, I didnt have an LD for months, then I got a taste of another one, which made me realize that II CAN DO THIS! i switched my ld habits to techniques that work better for me,a and since then, I have had 4 lucid dreams in 2 weeks!
