      Dont pressure yourself

its been a while since ive posted anything on here, i have been reading and keeping updated(every so often)
ive been having a major dry spell and wanted to spill my thoughts on attaining lucidity. I was just reading the post about just believing you will be lucid it will happen.. i also believe that if you pressure yourself too hard to be lucid, it wont happen.
before i even knew what "lucid dreaming" was. i was lucid almost everynight. id tell my friends how id know i was dreaming and they thought i was odd.. somehow.. though now i forget, i came across this website and was amazed that it wasnt weird at all! but these days.. i find it very hard to become lucid.
my dream recal is very good.99% of the time, and im always givin many of my dream signs in my dreams..but i never seem to grasp them. i figure its because ive put too much pressure on myself to be lucid.. i really wanna be. and i think im sabbotaging (sorry about the spelling of that) my own ability. but anyways.. just a thought... if your having a hard time, maybe relax a little and try not to think about it too much.

For some people (including me) it works to put on pressure to get Lucid. Sure recall goes down when you try too hard, but not for Lucids. It's different for everyone.

I have been considering this for a while as I put a ton of pressure on myself and it doesn't really seem to work. I should know better, anything I have ever wanted and received in life was effortless, but it is really hard for me to stop putting out the effort to lucid dream. I think I will go ahead and go a few nights without really trying but this isn't the first time I have said this. For some reason with lucid dreaming I just have a strong feeling that my effort is needed, but like you said this could very well be holding me back as anytime I feel this way about something I end up limiting my potential. I'll see how it goes, it is getting rather frustrating when you focus on lucid dreaming all day and incorporate all of these methods just to wake up with some boring dream about school or something... I need to meditate on this
