Angry Frustration, very limited LD success

This is by far not the only thread on limited LD success but I feel like I've been investing so much effort into lucid dreaming, writing countless journal entries, reality checking throughout the day, practicing awareness and all but the lucid dreams don't come any easier at all!
My first lucid dream was my best one, that I maintained lucidity in for a long time and the rest have all been very, very brief.
I've joined almost three months ago and all I had was seven lucid dreams!
All my WILDs have been complete failures, I either stay awake or fall asleep, I can never hit that magical "in between" spot. I suspect this has probably something to do with my Attention Deficit Disorder and there's nothing I can do about that!

Is anyone else experiencing similar frustrations as mine or did you in the past? What did you do to overcome these challenges?
      Be AWARE of your surroundings!

don't be frustrated, give LDing a rest for a week or so
being frustrated leads to anger, anger leads to stress, stress leads to no LDs
      good luck

It's definitely not something to get frustrated about, because it just makes it harder to LD.. I would stop trying to WILD for a while, and just keep writing journal entries. if you find you are spending too much time writing in your DJ, focus more on the points that were memorable to save time.

How brief we talkin here? Immediate dream fadeing upon lucidity?

If so we have something in common. Used to be I was so excited and amazed that I was in a dream I would over exert myself -- you know the story. Though recently I've been able to remain calm and employ the hand rub and spin techinque but still the dream fades. Given my comparably little exp in the lucid state, I chalk up the "failure" to my rookie status.

And maybe that's it. Maybe we don't think we deserve to be lucid. That we haven't invested ENOUGH effort. Yeah?

I have been through some pretty inspiration-crushing dry spells and one thing that may get you out of it is to get more sleep consistently. I know every one thinks they cant, but you can find 2 extra hours every night for one or two weeks and you may be surprised at how quickly you see improvement. It worked for me!

Only had 7 and you have been on here for 3 months?

      Are you serious?

Most people, including me, have been on just as long or longer and have had none.

You are doing well, be happy for what you have achieved so far.

I've been practicing lucid dreaming since 2010, i've only had only ONE lucid dream. It was a pretty boring one at that.
U didn't mention doing any WBTB methods, those are the best imo. I do them every night, but it probably works best if u do it once or twice a week.

I doubt ADD has anything to do with dreaming. Actually to be quite honest i think people that have been diagnosed with "ADD" are people with personalities that allow them to be attracted to things such as lucid dreaming to give meaning to their life. (not saying anything about ur life im saying lucid dreaming is meaningful and awesome and should be apart of everyone's life) I think a lot of very good lucid dreamers here would be diagnosed with ADD by a psychiatrist.
Seriously tho, believing that any of the problems u face in life are the result of a born disorder you can do nothing about is limiting urself. Your mind is a powerful thing and it can overcome anything if you really want to.

...except really wanting something is a damn difficult way of getting something, especially lucid dreaming. I should know this, 3 months and no success, I was just about ready to give up. But everyone on here said to keep going, 3 months is nothing, so I keep at it.

Tenacity, patience, practice and will are the main things you need to get what you want.

You are having good progress. 7 lucid dreams is more than most people have in there life let alone a few months. Be happy for what you can do and don't worry about what others can do better. Let other peoples strides motivate you but do not worry. You can never go wrong with being grateful for what you can do. Don't view it as aww i only had this many view it as "Woot I had some more lucid dreams." It takes awhile to start having a few lucids a week. Some people it takes weeks, others months and some years. most fall between months and years. During WILDs don't worry to much about it you will either have a LD or you will not. Just relax and focus on something simple like thinking Lucid Dreaming repeatedly.
Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.

It took me 18 months to have my first proper lucid dream. Trust me, I'd have welcomed 7 lucids in 3 months; I'd have been the happiest guy in the world. You're doing really really well. Don't stress

Now, that's the 'inspirational' bit over, here's some pragmatism. I would recommend giving WILDing a rest for a couple of weeks, like someone recommended above. Just keep journalling. As for your problem of striking a balance with wilding... that's pretty much everyone's problem with it, I believe. It's why it's seen as such a hard method. Someone might correct me here, but from what I've seen, that's accurate.

WBTB, MILD and WILD are the most favorite methods so far I have noticed amoung people here. That, coupled with regular Reality checks and ADA. Once you can get all these (one method, or all, your choice), then you shouldn't have much of a problem.

Wow man.. You're actually quite lucky. Ive been at it about 2-3 months, and I've only had 2 Lucids!!!! Seriously.
Just keep trying different techniques. Thats what I've kind of been doing, just trying all the different things. DILD, WILD, DEILD etc etc.
But it still isnt working.. So what? Should I just give up? NO! I'm going to keep going cause I know how awesome it is to find that you're actually dreaming!
Soon I might even try using Choline Bitartrate pills to trigger lucidity, thats how desperate I am lol.
But yea, just keep at it, and give it a rest for a bit. You'll have another one eventually.
