      What to expect on FILD?

Mere sleep paralysis scares me considerably. I woke up this morning and thought I heard someone close a car door right beside me, might have been sp.

Anyways, when doing fild do I hear those creepy sounds? Feel vibrations? Hear the stupid buzzing in my ear or train?

If the answer to these is no then I shall attempt my first wild.

This might get slightly confusing, so bear with me.

There are two types of FILD; there's the kind that's essentially just a shortened form of DEILD (waking up and not moving), and then there's the kind which is a form of WILD (going to bed after moving). When you attempt the FILD where you wake up, don't move, and use the technique, you might get a couple hallucinations, usually auditory or visual (HI), but they usually don't last for more than a minute or so, since you're often back in a dream by them. If you're doing FILD during a WBTB, it's more like a WILD where you will experience SP, hallucinations or no hallucinations, or end up suddenly finding yourself in a dream.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Why is that? There are plenty of other techniques other then FILD and DILD.

The WILD family of techniques (WILD, DEILD, FILD) isn't as scary as you think it is, although I realize it can be very intimidating at first. I've had some rather bumpy sleep paralysis episodes, but after that, it was totally smooth sailing and nothing was scary, because I knew it wasn't real. It's always interesting to be in a state where you're awake, but your mind is doing weird things... and it's almost fun.

To each his own, though! If you decide you really want to stick with DILD, you could always try MILD, and some WBTBs along with it.

I can only do mild, dild and wbtb. I normally combine the three so I do get lucids, three just this morning without linking them. But I know this will not always happen and I want to have lucids at least every other day.

By knowing a method other than the ones I listed I could have garunteed ld's.

I accidentally tried the deild and I am not sure what it was but I could hear my heart beating like never before.

I have heard that people hallucinate shadow creatures looking at them or other shadow figures on top of their bed. How can this happen if your eyes are closed?

I think I will actually try deild. And once I get used to that move on to the wild wild.

SP can bring things like vibrations and sounds, but it can also come with visual things. (thats where those people see shadow figures)

But these scary things that you describe don't have to be scary, I usually just hear a very loud airplane noice and then I immediately realise that its probaly SP and that there is nothing to worry. In my last DEILD after the airplane sound was gone I found myself looking at a fighting scene from the movie 300. Nothing scary ever happend, as long as you realise that there is nothing to fear.

How did you make it into the dream.

Well I tried to step into the battlefield but what actually happened was that I felt myself in front of my TV in my room looking at the scene, that how I made it into the dream which wasn't the scene itself but my room.

Its pretty hard to explain, but I guess it was visualising myself being able to move through the scene which in this case got me to move through my room.

Had a pretty horrible SP last morning, it felt like someone had climbed into bed beside me and I couldn't move

I just used it to my advantage by rolling away and straight into a lucid.

Don't be so sure. I can lucid dream every night if I wanted to using MILD. But I can not WILD or FILD for my life. Why do you think that you should be any different? You can lucid dream every other night if you find the right MILD technique.

i think things like FILD are different for each person, but this is what happens for me personally. i wake up and dont move, and start to move my fingers. i wait about 20 seconds, and rc after (not counting and doing the rc are very importiant i have found). sometimes in the transition i feel nothing, other times a slightly cold whoosh, nothing freezing though. then i see a fuzzy image, it is bring but it feels like i just woke up. then my eyes start to close, and i fight it, but they do anyway. after that everything is black, i wait a few seconds and open my eyes to a clear dream. i think the black is just the dream forming. but anyway, dont feel afraid of FILD, it is like DEILD but with an anchor. if you do it right the transition takes only a few seconds and is nothing to be afraid of.
