      9 failed lucid dreams. Help

So I have had 9 lucid dreams now, all dild exept one Deild.
And every single time I have woken up in less than 30 seconds.

I understand that at first I might of got over exited and not stabilized,
But in the last few I have stayed calm and stabilized and I still wake up.

Any advise on stabilizing or really good stabilizing techniques? Or anything else that might help?

Last night I did a mild, I started to suspect I was dreaming then I saw a pot cleaning itself, and I knew I was dreaming.
Them I felt really disy and drunk, I fell over, everyone ran over to Se if I'm ok, I got up and said out loud stabilize a few times while looking at my hand. Then It stabilized and I woke up?

Check this page, lots of useful information.
You can also take advantage of waking up and try to Deild.

Qwer, if you got lucid at all these were NOT failed attempts

If you get lucid its definitely a success! All you need to to is keep calm. Being too excited is a big problem for people, especially people new to lucid dreaming.
You have to keep your thoughts clear you don't want to be like "omfg im dreaming what shall i do omfg omfg" or panic or anything because you will wake up. Just stay calm, do a few stabilising techniques and make sure you stabilise before each time you try to do anything big.

Simply because you can breathe, doesn't mean your alive, or that you really live....

Ok Qwer, in the back of your dream journal, write 2 or 3 things that you'd like to do when lucid. These will be your goals.
As soon as you become lucid and stabilise you want to be doing one of these goals. Sometimes you can wake up just because you have no idea what you should do in the lucid and questioning yourself breaks lucidity. Either by waking up, or just losing yourself within the dream.

Try undressing. It's a nice tactile sensation that gets your whole dream body involved. Also, rub your hands a lot.

      Cheers!
Pls be patient and stop losing your mind!

Wow, I'm jealous. You are definitely doing better than I am! I haven't even managed to have a real LD yet! So yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with nito89 on this one, those were NOT failed attempts!

If you realise you are dreaming then you have done a lucid dream, you have not failed.

I agree with nito89 and Arch that you are succeeding, not failing. Most of my LDs have been very to relatively brief, with a couple of notable exceptions. I assumed that I would achieve lucidity, stabilize it, and then have this or that experience, and in one of my very first LDs, I was able to create precisely the experience I wanted out of thin air--and then I was baffled when I was unable to do anything near that in subsequent LDs.

I realized I was putting too much pressure on myself and have backed way off. At the moment, my entire focus is on achieving lucidity. I'm not worrying about stabilizing the lucid state or about controlling my dreams--all of that will come.

It sounds to me like you are absolutely doing great! Go easy on yourself, maybe setting just one very simple goal beyond achieving lucidity, or even setting no goal, for now, beyond that. It sounds like you are going to have a fantastic lucid dreaming career!

Thanx for all the tips, il keep on trying.

And nito89 did you say questioning myself in a lucid dream can wake me up?

Probably a bad way to phrase it. I mean Not having clear goal or motive can sometimes make you lose focus, therefore losing lucidity via going back into a none lucid state or waking up.

I know what you mean about the way you feel you've failed - I used to get a top-heavy sensation which caused me to be really unbalanced, fall over and wake up. Once I realised that the balance couldn't hold me back - it disappeared.

You are the one who controls your dreams, even if you are dizzy and tipsy. Another good thing I used was to not use negative reinforcement - for example "I will not wake up" makes you start thinking about waking up, and reinforces that thought in your mind. Instead, say to yourself "I will stay in this dream as long as I want."
