As far as your first question, yes, SP during DEILDs is generally much shorter, less intense, and often times i don't even notice it (deild is my favorite method). Since you are waking up from a dream and not moving whatsoever, you are staying in SP, never having to go through the beginning stages of it which freak most people out. From then on you just continue with your technique and all's fine and dandy.
As far as DILDs go, they are more sporatic than any form of WILD, but they are generally easier to do and do not cause any "freaky" effects. DILDs though, sinc they can not be controlled very easily, will be random and, often times, I can only get 1-2 DILDs per week, with which I often continue through the use of DEILDs. If you keep at it though, I'm sure you could get a consistent 3-4 per week after practicing for some time.
You should check ADA, all day awareness. It's not exactly all day, but take 10-20 minutes a couple times each day (maybe during your time on DV, during a study hall if you're enrolled in a school, or before going to bed) during which you attempt to heighten and use all your senses. This includes not only paying more attention to your total eye view (peripherals too) but also hearing (what does your typing sound like?), touch (what do your clothes actually feel like? is it warm or cold where you are?), smell (is someone cooking? have you or a loved one showered today?), and evn taste (take a drink of water and try to taste all the little additives or subtleties in it). This helps you become more aware in general and will move into your dreams as well.
Also, when you preform your RCs make sure you are not just simply pinching your nose/looking at your hands. Actually think about it. Is this really waking life? Am I sure this is normal? When you preform a RC take 10-30 seconds, not just 2-3.
