      Hello new member here

Hello to everyone. I have lurked these forums for on and off since last July. I have not had many Lucid dreams but I seem to be able to gain Lucidity easily if I stay dedicated(DILD). I read the book "School of Out of Body Travel" by Michael Raduga. I found it to be very informative. If you are unfamiliar with this book it covers what is called The Phase aka lucid dreaming and astral projection.

In the book it says the most effective way to enter The Phase is by an indirect technique which is basically pulling yourself out of your body as soon as you awaken from sleep. This is supposed to be the easiest way to lucid dream, however I have been having trouble remembering to attempt to exit as soon as I awaken. Has anyone else attempted this and if so do you have any tips?

Oh btw A few months ago I was able to attempt indirect techniques in the morning as I awakened. I didn't succeed though because I did awake with my goal on mind instantly but I would move or open my eyes on accident. This discouraged me and caused me to quit because I became more focused on weight lifting. So I don't know why I have been having so much trouble now of simply remembering to attempt an exit as I awaken. I would greatly appreciate your help.

Hello Thrasher I would check out the brand new edition of the book as it gives a lot of new information regarding becoming discouraged. Don't just read the book, begin to study it. Read it slowly and when you find sentences that relate to your problems write them on a piece of paper so that you have a quick handy guide to refer to.

Hey thanks mcwiillis sorry for the late response I've been busy. I just downloaded the book, it is 506 pages. My old one was around 200 I believe(both e-book). I must have the new one right?

You're welcome. You most certainly do have the new one. I was going to say good luck but I won't as you don't need it with this new edition

      Welcome to DreamViews.
I'm very happy you mentioned that book, it is one of the few I keep re-reading for additional information regarding Out-of-Body techniques. Everyone who is interested in Lucid Dreaming should read it I think.
Hope you enjoy the forum !

I did read it. It gave me a lot of usefull tips on LDing, but it doesn't work that splendid for me. It is a lot like DEILD though, and some variations of that do work good for me.

I've been trying for several days now and everytime I wake up I have a habit of thinking of the dream I just had instead of focusing on attempting indirect techniques. I created this habit back when I was focusing on dream recall and writing in my dream journal. Does anybody have any tips to help me break this habit?
