I have tried keeping a dream diary and doing regular reality checks in the hope that I will do one in my dreams. I became lucid after about three days, but woke up the instant I realised I was lucid. I kept trying for about four months, but did not become lucid again.
Keep that dream journal! you need it if you want to have consistent dreams. You had a lucid after three days, thats great!! I had my first lucid almost a year after trying to!
I would like to try some other techniques, but all there seem to be are ones like the wake back to bed. With my partner in bed next to me that is not practical.
Is it not practical only when using an alarm? if so a really effective way to wake up is to drink a glass or two of water before sleep, and you will wake up naturally after a sleep cycle, it works almost every time.
If you cant do that, then you are just going to have to work on reality checks and dream journalling when you wake up, maybe only waking up half way through the night on the weekends (if you can)
Keep determined though, reality checking through the day, dream journalling every morning, and waking back to bed when possible is great for lucid dreams.
