      Anyone else have this problem?

As i've been trying to go to sleep or een after a WBTB i always have trouble keeping my eyes fully closed. My right eye specifically always opens without me wanting it to. Sometimes it opens a tiny bit where i can't even notice it opened until a few seconds later. Also whenever i'm trying to relax for a WILD or just to go to sleep y eyes are always moving and looking all over the place uncontrollably it bothers me and makes it harder for me to fall asleep and near impossible to WILD. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I'd really like to know if there's anything i can do because i feel like it's diminishing my chances to become lucid

What time are you getting up to perform your WBTB? You may be getting up too late and confusing your body into thinking your getting up. I would try to get up earlier than what you are now and then see if your still having problems. I have the same issue with the involuntary opening and find that using pressure from my blankets (just puting the covers over my eyes) or a sleep mask really works. Try concentrating on one point in the center of your forehead too if you think your eyes are moving too much- this works for me sometimes too. Hope this helps!

I go to sleep between 12-2 every night and wake up for my WBTB around 4:30 and 6 and then wake up at 9:30-10. It doesn't just happen during my WBTB it occurs every time i try to sleep. I occasionally use my blankets as well to cover my eyes, but it usually gets too hot for me to fall asleep like that. Thanks for the tips though and i'll definitely try concentrating on that point of my forehead.

If your trying to WBTB it might be your brain sending impulses to make sure that your asleep so it can start going into REM Sleep its hard to explain research it
You see things and say, 'Why?", but I dream things and say, 'Why not?

I would try a sleep mask. Just a thought

It seems like you're putting too much mental concentration into your body. I would recommend keeping the focus away from your eyes and maybe relax further; the deeper relaxed you are, the less you'll think about your body. Do you ever find yourself on the brink of falling asleep but then catch yourself because you noticed it? And have you noticed that while you're sinking into unconsciousness, you're just thinking about random dribble? Try to think passively about things while retaining your awareness. My eyes sometimes open a little, too, but I keep relaxing so that I no longer pay attention to them. I'd also consider a sleep mask, and make sure the lighting in your room is as dark as possible, so you won't notice as much if your eyes do open.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I haven't had this problem at all lately and i've been doing basically exactly what you said here. Instead of concentrating too much on something I just relax deeper and deeper and my eyes don't even open at all anymore
