You should write your dreams in a dream journal. That will help with your recall. Write in it, even if all you remember are a few words or feelings. That will let your mind know, that dreaming and remembering your dreams is important to you.

I have not tried binaural beats, but they are suppose to work. Not sure, if for everybody.

Some people believe, that our dreams are just in our heads, others, that they could be something else. But in any case, I believe, that you can make changes to your behaviour, by acting it out in your dream and see how it feels (test drive it) And yes, you can do personal and spiritual exploration. For this, I would recommend book "Lucid dreaming, Gateway to the inner self" by Robert Waggoner. Most of his book is about self-explorations. Very good descriptions of his lucid dreams, what mantras he used to get different things in his dreams and lots of other cool stuff.
