Take a break, the very worst thing you can do in lucid dreaming is get frustrated, all you're doing is establishing neural networks that tell your brain 'I can't do this'. |

So I have been working on lucid dreaming for a couple months now. I have increased my recall dramatically and that has been great, enjoying my dreams once again, but since about a week after I started trying I have not had a LD. The first and only one I had was a DILD, and it seemed so easy that I thought by now I would be up to one a week. I try wbtb wilds every night, and every time I end up just falling asleep with no hint of SP. This may just be a rant, but i'm hoping someone has a suggestion. Thanks! |

I wouldn't even say you have to take a break. Instead just slow it down. Don't focus so hardly on getting a lucid dream. And when trying a wbtb wild, just relax. It seems like you're overly trying which can have a negative side affect on ur dreaming. |

Peter piper picked your pecker.... wait that's not right.
Having a dream journal is great. Are you doing reality checks, mantras and daytime awareness? These are all part of MILD technique for DILDs. And WBTB - how long do you stay up and after how many hours of sleep? |
|
@gab, I have a dream journal, and it has helped me get to where I remember at least one full dream a night (before i wasn't remembering any) I do reality checks and the ADA technique that KingYoshi wrote. I have also tried a few mantras. Maybe I am trying too hard. Thanks for your input guys. Also what is your favorite WILD technique? |

oh also I have tried all sorts of times for wbtb, between 4 and 8 hrs after bed |

I agree with Ctharlhie... sometimes the best thing you can do is take a break. You might want to try simple visualizations while you are trying to fall asleep. Visualize a happy memory, something you did today, or the last dream you can recall. Just a thought. |

I have actually successfully re entered a couple dreams by visualization but I didn't become lucid |

If you fall asleep too fast after WBTB, maybe you didn't stay up long enough. Keep your mind entertained with mantras, focusing on your breating, or counting. Experiment between 5 min to 1 hour. You should be in perfect balance of thinking clearly, but still tired. Check out the SAT technique I have linked in my previous post. And don't worry about SP. Somebody is aware of being in it, others aren't. It's just a stepping stone, not the goal. And when doing MILD/DILD, there is no need for SP at all, you just fall asleep normally and in a regular dream you will realize you are dreaming. |

Yeah I actually used to get into SP all the time when I would fall asleep in school before i knew what it was, and i loved that feeling. When doing wbtb I have experimented with a couple different times for staying awake, but I always seem to either be too awake or too sleepy, but I have been trying to follow all the steps in yoshi's WILD technique, maybe that was too much, Ill try what you said tomorrow. Thanks for the input! |
