      Dreaming About Lucid Dreaming

I've been learning how to lucid dream for probably 6 months now and have had about 10 lucid dreams. Most of them were only 30 seconds or so but a few good ones. Lately I have been putting a lot more effort into reality checks and MILD when I go to bed and throughout the night when I naturally wake up. The increased attention to lucid dreaming while awake is definitely making it's way into my subconscious. While dreaming, I have not been performing any reality checks but talk frequently with dream characters about lucid dreams or tell them about the dream I just had and have even had a few dreams where I'm laying in bed repeating "when I'm dreaming, I'll notice I'm dreaming". It is great that my efforts are making into my subconscious but not exactly in the way I had hoped. Any thoughts?

This just happened to me the other night. I've only had one lucid dream spontaneously, but for the past month I've been trying and trying to lucid dream and have been unsuccessful. So basically in my dream, I was dreaming while having a lucid dream in my dream..if that makes sense. But my dream lucid dream took place two years ago and I remember being scared that whatever I did would affect me when I woke up in my dream and that my life would be different, basically like I got a chance to do something different. Evidently the desire to lucid dream is in our subconscious so I believe it is a start to being able to actually become lucid in the dream with the right training.. I'm not too sure. Have you tried other techniques, or you just stick with MILD? I often do reality checks, meditate, and keep a dream journal for the past month but the results haven't done me much good yet..

Not that unusual as we assimilate the previous day's thoughts, ideas and experiences in our dreams. I would think that this is a positive experience and continue my path. Good luck to you!

The effect of being on the forum a lot has definitely influenced my waking life and my dreams. I have had nights where I thought about LDs all night, or inside the dreams themselves like you describe.

I think having the influence can only be a good thing. I decided to create an Autosuggestion thread for eaxctly that reason. It's in the Attaining Lucidity sub-forum.

Some people here on the forums have been around for years, and many report requiring years before they achieved half the control they now have. In light of that, I think having the forum influence your thoughts can only help your chances for success.

Lately I've just been repeating affirmations when I go to bed at night that I will do reality checks when I'm dreaming, then during the night I wake up naturally and do MILD then. I also keep a dream journal (when I'm not being lazy). I've attempted WILD a several times without success. A few times while attempting wild I've gotten a fuzzy feeling all over which I'm not is anything worth noting but never hypnogogic imagery or sleep paralysis.
