      1000 RC's a day

      Hey everyone,
This is just a topic I started for my new experiment with EIDLing.
Using the free iphone app "Alarmed ~ reminders, timers, alarm clock" I will perform 3 reality checks each minute (From 5 pm to 10:30 pm, thats 990 Rc's). Incase anyone wants to join me what I did was I set a timer in the app to go off in one minute and enabled the "nag me" option to keep it repeating every minute . Then at night I will set the timer to go off in two hours and have it repeat every minute again. Hopefully I will have hardwired the sound into my brain so that I will instantly recognize it and become lucid.
I will log my progress here,

I don't think RC's are about quantity, you should actually look around and wonder if you're really awake or not. Otherwise, it'll just become automatic, you'll do it almost without thinking.

Who said I wasn't. Everytime I RC I try to truthfully ask myself whether im dreaming or not. EILD stands for Externally induced lucid dream so instead of using dream signs I will trigger an rc in my dream through a sound and I must be able to instantly recognize it. Im checking the succes rate I will achieve by trying this, so obviously I will not let it become an autonomous action.

Have you thought of say, staying up for a half hour WBTB and RCing throughout the WBTB duration? (That's not a suggestion, btw. Just like to see if people can get results doing experiments I can't be bothered to do myself.)
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

Indeed, what I was planning was for this first week to just try normally and from next week on add WBTB. I will post the results if I witnessed any differences.

What a bloody awesome idea! Although it would be kinda annoying if after all that you just had normal dreams with no RCs.

First night I already got a ld but i decided to move the experiment to the 26 of may when my holidays start.
On hearing the noise I instantly think "am I dreaming?", which to my surprise hasn't become a habbit. Later on in the week I will post my full experiment plans, I have been working up what I want to do for sure.

Thanks, what you said is exactly what I want to prove, whether or not the quantity of RC's I do have an actual effect on my LDing. I think that even doing the RC's all day stimulates the amount of DILDs I have.

Seems like a bad idea to me.... 3 RCs/minute? You won't even be able to go to the toilet, lol.

Well I mean three rc's that take about tens seconds to perform in total. And I dont really do a thousand, I just do it until it becomes autonomous and then I stop for the day (A reasonable estamite would be 400/day)

That's still too much. You won't even take them seriously after a while...

In most cases, asking yourself "Am I dreaming?" is not enough on its own. Your dreaming mind is almost always firmly convinced of the reality of the dream situation, no matter how unusual or bizarre the situation may be. You may be sailing on a river of peanut butter while gazing at elephants with vampire bat wings as they fly circles above you, yet -- without performing specific techniques to prove to yourself you are dreaming -- your dreaming mind will be convinced the situation is entirely real. For this reason, it's necessary not only to ask yourself if you are dreaming but also to take other very simple steps at the same time to determine whether or not you are within a dream.
