      Unhappy Having trouble attaining ludicty

Hi everyone, I've been having vivid dreams for a while now and even though I've took on ADA and become more proficient in it everyday I can't seem to get the RC in my dreams down. Dreaming isn't the difficulty, I have no problem with having dreams but I'm just looking for a little advice on how to improve my ADA or RC'ing to help me finally get lucid :

How long have you been trying to get lucid? Don't expect to get lucid in a few days if thats the answer. Even though its possible, it varies for everyone. What it takes to have a lucid dream is motivation and effort. NEVER give up or show a decrease in motivation or effort because everyone can lucid dream and that attitude will only hinder your chances. Another important note is to never get frustrated if you don't get a lucid dream one night. This will also hurt your chances for lucidity. Stay positive! As for what you can do to speed up the process, you can put a wrist band/watch on your wrist...and every time you feel it on your wrist, heighten your awareness. Take a second look at your surroundings. This will help you improve in ADA. Also, make sure you are reality checking at least 12 times a day. Have you considered trying a DEILD? This can be a great way for beginners to "force" a lucid dream and get their brain into lucid mode. Hope this helps!

Me too at the moment. I have the odd lucid dream but it's very rare. Nothing I do seems to help at the moment... I've kept up ADA for over a month, and it's amazing how aware I've become, but neither that or any RCs I do during the day seem to count towards anything.

But! As jblb said, don't ever give up, keep making the effort, and we'll get there for sure!

Wow thanks for the replys everyone! , I've been doing MILD and some WBTB permitting I can get enough sleep but I think if anything my first LD will be DILD, as for how long I've been doing it its been about 2-3 weeks now of dreams + ADA/RC. As for the wristwatch idea that's brilliant and I shall out that into my schedule of ADA, and another thing I had a dream last night where I knew I was dreaming but couldn't get lucid, what are the best methods to become lucid cause I tried the whole "I know I'm dreaming" with positive reinforcement to no avail?

A lucid dream is defined as a dream in which you know that you are dreaming. The dream you describe is technically a lucid dream, but of very low quality. Im guessing you just realized your dreaming and just shrugged it off because you were still unconscious for the most part. Usually doing a bunch of reality checks in the dream and increasing awareness in waking life will fix this problem. You are so close to a great lucid i can smell it xD. Its only a matter of time before you have your first real lucid. My first lucid dream took about 3-4 weeks. After that i had lucid dreams 1-4 times a week. Also, the best method methods that give you the highest level of lucidity are the ones that bring you directly into a dream without a lapse of consciousness. Examples are WILD and DEILD. Happy dreaming!

Haha thanks, I thought that that dream would've been semi lucid but ill continue to do my ADA and try to remember to RC and carry it over into the dream world, I'm Definately going to try WILD and DEILD once I get familiar with dream control, stabilisation and powers when I'm lucid. Thanks for the help! , im really hyped up to try this now!

DEILD is definitely the easiest for beginners, WILD takes a Lot more willpower, more meditative skill. One has to keep their mind conscious, while not paying too much attention to the sleep phases. I've tried time and time again, it's not something a beginner can do. Not to put you down, for all I know you could be a natural at it.
It's all about what works best for you, don't be afraid to try different techniques, explore them and suit them to your needs. No two minds are alike, what works for some, won't work for others.
I might suggest questioning where you're going during the day, why you're going there, and what is going on. Question everything, because that will carry over into your dreams and you will question the dream world. But yeah, explore techniques, mix things up a bit. Find what works best. Happy Dreaming!
Live your life the way You want to live it, not by how others want it to be lived.

Yeah WILD is quite hard to grasp, closest I came was getting the the SP phase but getting freaked out by the hallucinations, understandable as I haven't even had a full LD yet , I prefer to mix a bit of MILD and WBTB into my methods but as you say, it's what works best for you, happy dreaming and thanks for the reply!
