      Sleep paralysis kicking me out!

So ive just started trying to lucid dream after i had a great accidental one which made me want to experience more of them . Anyways, this is about me and my encounters with sleep paralysis. The first time i tried lucid dreaming i just laid completely still for around 1-2 hours and just laid and got impatient but waited it out..kinda forgot about it and then i heard a bunch wew-wew-wew sounds really loud and my breathing echoed in my mind i tried to stay in but i kinda freaked out and "left" by shaking my head. The next time i tried, i mentally prepared myself and laid completely still, long after, i heard the sounds and didnt freak out and just relaxed. So i hear the funky noises play and i remain calm and wait for myself to enter a "dream realm" but the sounds started fading out! I laid still for 10 minutes with nothing happening and thought this may have been a false awakening and tried some reality check (finger through objects, holding nose closed) and was very disapointed when it was a real awakening. i went back to sleep and set my alarm to do the wbtb method which did nothing aswell but i do recall a dream i had but it wasnt lucid at all. I even remember thinking that in the dream, it was a dream but forgot about it like a second later. . anyways, any tips that i may not already know? any good sure-fire methods you guys have? i am very intrigued in lucid dreaming.

It sounds like you may be trying to WILD right when you first go to sleep. If this is the case then I advise you to pair it with a WBTB or do it during a nap instead since doing it first thing at night is much more difficult and will result in low quality lucids. If not then it sounds like you're just focusing too much on something, most likely those HH (hypnagogic hallucinations). The thing with WILDs is if you focus too much on something then you won't fall asleep and you won't get through SP or the HH. You need to try and ignore the hallucinations a little bit and clear your mind a bit or focus on an anchor if you choose to use one. Just keep trying, as you attempt more and more WILDs this will become easier and after you get used to it they become almost second nature.

All of Burke'sadvice is on the money here. He refers to an anchor, here is a link to a small conversation you may find useful. http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/anchor-key-wild-132755/

WBTB WILDs are maybe 5 times as likely to work for me compared to bedtime, sad, but it is a truth.

If you just started I would only toy with WILDs. The bulk of your study, and every one's, even mine, should be and should stay MILD. It will end up with you getting lucid, some day. Then, after a few dozed MILD induced DILDs you are going to know what to look for in your WILD attempts.
