Please help me with these questions!

These are questions that have been on my mind for awhile, and I really need answers to them. Firstly, my dreams vary by a lot, like I never notice anything in common, and when I do, I stop having common dreams so I can't even have reality checks to do. So my question is, is there a way to fix that or anything? Secondly, I heard that WBTB was a great thing to try but I have school in the morning; does it mess up your sleeping schedule and make you more tired? Thanks!

Ok. If you don't have a dream journal, start one. You would be surprised, how many dream signs you will find. But, dreams signs, although could be helpfull, are not required. You can do RCs+awareness in daytime at totally random times. That way, in your dream, you will do RC at totally random time also.

WBTB indeed is great tool. And it can mess with your schedule, especially, if you don't have enough sleep and you get up early for school. You could try WBTB on weekends. During week, concentrate on DILDs.
      Happy dreams

Ah, thanks! I'll try WBTB on the weekends then! So how could I perform a random RC? I've heard that walking through door ways and asking yourself a question helps. Side note, I think I've read one of your tutorials and it gave me a lot of good info, thanks!

I almost never get lucid from realising I'm in a weird place or see something strange. It's mostly intentions for me and MILD is very effective in that way, The way you want to perform RC's is when you experience something out of the ordinary but also like gab said, randomly. It comes down to awareness, so just look around and use all your senses, your memory, what you're doing and THEN you RC by counting fingers or plugging your nose and try to breathe through it.

Random RC is when during day you remember to RC. You go "whoa, what if this is a dream" and you act really surprised and for a moment you think you are in a dream. Examine your surroundings, look at details, think of what would be a difference, if this was a dream.

Then you RC - look at hands and examine them, count fingers, plug nose, say "if I was in a dream, I could float" and any other of your favorite RCs. Then I say "next time I'm dreaming, I realize I'm dreaming".

To random RC, you can of course add RC when doing something specific, like walking through doors, getting a drink, taking a shower, saying hi to someone, or you get the idea.

The main thing is, that you should genuinely think, that you could be in a dream.

Ah, thanks everyone for your help! Also, how does a WBTB mess up your schedule, and does It mess it up even when waking up for a few minutes to record a dream and back to sleep?

What I ment by WBTB messing up your schedule is, that if you stay up at night, you may not be able to fall asleep right away. Then you may be more tired in the morning than normally. The WBTB can be anywhere from 5 min to an hour. It works different for everybody. So lets say you stay up for 30 min, then it takes you you 30 min to fall asleep, you would have lost 1 hr of sleep. And if your sleep is already short, that will make a difference in how you feel in the morning.

That said, some people pull off WBTB without any ill effect, and you may be able to do it too. Just give it a try and you will see if it is for you on a school night.

If you just scribble few notes or keywords about your dream, you have a better chance to fall asleep soon again, than if you stay up for WBTB, because you are excited from the whole thing, or you stayed up too long.

But you won't know till you try. Good luck.
