Yeah. It is just hard. I know someone that does it every night. He just keeps consciousness through NREM. |

Hey guys, is it possible to get in to bed at night, lay there consciously, let your body go to sleep, and eventually the dream will build around you, therefore you have went from laying in bed straight in to a dream? |

Thanks for the reply! |

Also, is there any advice on this technique? |
|
Try to take a mental note of that transitional area between your non-conscious and conscious state. |
|
Dream Remembering Tier: 3/5 (Sometimes I would, sometimes I won't
Lucid Dreaming Tier: 4/5 (Most of my dreams remembered are lucid, there are hardly times which I'm not.
Dream Control: 2/5 (I can do it anytime I choose, the problem is that it burns me out in the dream
Dream Guide: Kuhn (Or maybe it's Kun)
You have to let your mind wander but still keep track of your thoughts. It is a very hard balance. It is even harder if you are trying it at bed time like that. |

Hi soul, I go from straight in bed on a night into lucid dreams. Not every night of course but when I want to |

I've tried this many times and have found myself in hazy, half-formed dreams. Seriously, taking a half hour nap, waking up for another half hour, and then trying this will increase your odds exponentially. The reason is that you want to enter REM sleep for the most potent dreamscape, and jumping into it usually leads you into bizarre and fleeting dreams. |

Yes. I have found these NREM (non-REM) lucids to be the most intense. I use progressive muscle relaxation combined with visualization to reach this state. In my opinion it is a form of self-hypnosis that lends itself to lucid dreams. |
|
Look up yoga nidra, or sleep yoga. It is all about conscious NREM sleep. You don't experience dreams during yoga nidra though; in that state you experience formless thought and clearness of mind. You can use this phase to your advantage to literally stay conscious all night and catch all your dreams as lucids right as they start. It's pretty much the basis of being a yogi, without all the spiritual attachments. |

I have done it a few times but in all honesty it is more exhausting then it is worth. It can take me up to an hour to get relaxed enough and let my mind fall asleep while trying to lightly remain conscious. The moment my mind even touches any idea I regain complete awareness and I am back at step one. |
|
That's my downfall as well. I have a hard time letting go. I have experienced deep meditation, but I've never fallen asleep while remaining conscious. I fall asleep every night doing 61 point and spinal breath exercises, which have helped the vividness of my dreams and dream recall immensely, but I always start wandering and lose my light focus. |

This is easy to do once you mastered deep meditation. It has been happening to me more recently, i am getting images while my eyes are closed but i am still aware and awake. |

I do this sometimes, but not often because I can't stay lucid long. Click on the link in my signature, that might help. You basically just meditate and stay conscious while trying to sleep. |

Thanks for all the feedback guys! |
