Regular lucid dreams by building your awareness

I posted this on Reddit, but I thought someone might be interested.

It's basically my theory that building up your awareness will bring you closer to the lucid state every night making lucid dreaming much easier.

Here are the pictures explaining what happens when your awareness is at a high level Awareness - Imgur

Let me know what you think.

      Cheers

Haha fortunately your theory is proven, we all use this here at dreamviews. Awareness is the key to lucid dreaming, learn how to use it and no one can stop you. Nice picture by the way.

Your highly scientific picture-- I'm sorry, Diagram-- proves, without a doubt, that you must be correct.

But yes, we here call it All-Day-Awareness, and is an excellent technique not only for lucid dreaming, but for realizing the beauty and complexity of waking life.

      Also: Props on your sig.

Your post actually started to get me really interested in my meditation practice to improve my lucid dreaming skills, as well as for other reasons. What are your thoughts, or anyone else's who feels like chiming in, on the vipassana practice of mindfulness meditation in relation to lucid dreaming?

I was practicing vipassana meditation daily for about 4 months (still practicing the mindfulness, but I've been slacking on the formal meditations), in which I wasn't even trying to LD or even keeping a dream journal, let alone doing any particular induction methods.

Despite this, I still remembered dreams frequently, and still had a random lucid or two a month.

i notice a very direct correlation between my meditation time and dream vividness/lucidity, when i check my meditation app and dream journal.

with meditation you can get to a state of consciousness very similar to dreamless sleep, only much more vivid and fresh. i dont know if this fact has some correlation with lucidity, altough i suspect it makes you more aware of dreamless sleep and, through continuity, of the dream transition.
Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

I tend to do the samatha meditation which is more concentrating on a specific thing until the inner-voice disappears. But I have heard good things about all day awareness and vipassana.
