      improve lucid dream dild

i have been practicing lucid dream dild for 4 days but i have had no luck so far. to do this i stop at random times during the day to look around at my enviroment and i perform my reality checks. how long should this routine take and how long would it take for it to work.

Everybody differs, so everybody's time to achieve a LD is different.

For me, it took a little over a week to achieve a DILD. Don't let that discourage you, though - you might just have one tonight.

Relax bro its only been 4 days, give it some time. Just stay consistent and dedicated and you should produce decent results.

I generally do one every hour or two. You want to get in as many RCs as you can - you also need to really believe that they will work. Just find what works best with you.

Do them as many times that you're comfortable with. Make sure you don't burn yourself out because it's easier than you think. Just record in your dream journal and do you reality checks, what have you.

Sometimes people don't have LDs for several weeks after trying, it's possible but uncommon that people achieve it in their first week of trying. The thing about lucid dreaming is that it's a skill, just like playing the piano or drawing, and while some may be naturally talented in it, for others it takes time to perform well and master. Don't let this discourage you: it's definitely worth the effort in the end (after all, you can do anything you want to without consequence); stay confident and remind yourself that you have an opportunity to LD every night, but don't be disappointed if you don't. After all, even just attempting to LD is still improving your LD practice and habits, whether you succeeded or not.

I was going to offer some specific advice on DILD but it sounds like you're already doing what you need to. RC whenever you think of it (if you forget a lot, using an alarm is helpful) and stay aware of your environment. Believe in yourself as well, as having doubts on succeeding may keep you from actually succeeding, and keep yourself motivated. As long as you keep trying, you should eventually see some results.

Exactly what Maxis said. I know of people who took years to get their first lucid dream but they are now 100% lucid all the time. It takes a lot of work and dedication, and chances are it won't be as easy as you'd like, but don't let that stop you. In my eyes, the reward is worth the work. You get out what you put in.

You will have to experiment with a host of different factors to get yourself lucid. Everybody is different in the way that they get lucids, and you will have to refine your technique. Use a guide as just that, a guide. Don't use it as a step-by-step tutorial to lucid dreaming tonight! That just doesn't exist. And if it does, well you're a lucky sod for being able to LD naturally easily! My point is, you are doing well, keep at it. It may take a while, it may not, but you will get out of this what you put in. Good luck!

Like what has been mentioned above: it is different for everyone. It took me about a week and a half to for my reality checks to take effect in the dream world.
