I hate it when I close my eyes in an LD. Whenever I try to open them, I open them in real life and wake up. A few times I have been able to keep them closed and re-imagine the dream scene around me, but I usually just wake up. |

Maybe by doing this you are forcing the attention to your physical body and the lack of stimuli causes you to move towards waking up. Sometimes you can wait out those glitches and a new dream will begin, or the old one will resume. I'd say don't forcefully try to close/open your eyes. Yes, in general it's possible to see through them. Patience may be the best remedy. |

Ah, this is a real nuisance.. Whenever I close my eyes I too end up waking up. Thing is, it's really hard NOT to blink/close your eyes when you're so used to it in waking life. |

Usually when I accidently close my eyes in a dream I end up in complete darkness, like a black void. When this happens I usually start rubbing my hands together and spin myself around like a spin top. I'll repeat a mantra like "I'm going to a new dream scene" while I rub my hands and spin. 90% of the time I'll either end up in a new scene or be in the previous one. I'll then immediately stabilize the dream and continue. |

I've also had an exprience with a dream where I had my eyes close for awhile. However I am not too sure whether it's a dream or OBE as I left my body in this dream so I guess it would be known as an OBE in a dream. When I shut my eyes I was able to see through them automatically. I never knew it was a problem having eyes close and remain shut till one wakes up. |
