Is there a certain period of time I have to repeat a mantra to make it work?

I'm trying to alter scenarios in non-lucid dreams and false awakenings.

(Current mantra is "Next time I wake up, I will remember to feel my tail" and variations thereof, used to hopefully alter FAs)
This topic is very interesting for me Jacob.

Lobsang Rampa wrote that he treats his subconscious as if it is half-deaf. He puts his hands on its shoulders like you would a beloved child to make sure you have the childs full attention (for a short while anyway) then say what you want to get through to your distracted and energetic infant.

He wrote that you only need to say what you want to say 3 times.

But

Be focused, clear and honest with your precious child (your subconscious)

He too said to use only the present tense

The most important thing is to really feel the mantra, not just repeating the words but truly feel the intention and visualize a bit maybe.

The idea behind it is important,

not the sound of the words itself.

And in mantras never use future time like "I will" or "I am going to".

Use present only just like it's happening right now. Your subconscious reacts better like that :-)

Lets make-up some mantras and post them here. And not just mantras for dreaming.

Way back when I bought The Secret DVD, I would take the bus down to Henley Beach (3 times a week). My sacred beach is a 25 minute bus trip) then, as I walked from Henley Beach Jetty to Grange Beach Jetty (30 minutes slow stroll) I would talk to the noisy waves chanting "Everything is Perfect".

Then on my return trip from Grange Beach Jetty I would inform the mighty ocean (metaphor of the powerful unconscious) that I am always prepared.

If the waves where noisy enough to drowned-out my voice and there was no one close to me on the beach, I would fill my lungs with the purified and high-oxygen sea air and SHOUT at the huge ocean.

I even threw in some pretty long sounding O Aaaa Uuuuu Mmmm's for good measure.

I even shouted at the ocean to give me 9 Million dollars which triggered (several days later) a very memorable dream where I was on a mountain whith a yellow robed budda. I asked him if I could have 9 million dollars. He very gently and quietly but firmly said "no". I stood up "pist-off". There was a little basket of small hens eggs in it. I picked them up, one at a time, and threw them at Him.

The eggs splatted on his robe quite satisfactorily, then vanished. Then the Buddha began to quietly giggly, like he wasn't offended. Like I was his little beloved infant girl. But he wasn't going to lie to me. He respected me to much to lie to me.

Then I woke-up and cried because I treated him so bad. Then I realised that he knew I'd need to act out my anger at him when he truthfully said "no", and he had supplied the little basket of little hen's eggs so I could throw them at him.

Anyway

I hope we can have lots of ideas about mantra's
