      Question What is your mantra?

If you use a mantra before you fall asleep to help gain lucidity, What is it? and what kind of focus do you put on it?

I usually use a basic one like: Breathing in I think "I will realize im dreaming"
Breathing out I think "I will remember my dreams"
simple yet effective, sometimes I hear it in my head amidst a dream.

Generally I dont focus on the wording too much, but let it naturally come to me as I doze off.

      Whats yours?

I've used two for the past 5 nights and have gotten 5 total lucids from them.

"I will have a lucid dream tonight."

      and

"I will remember to realize I'm dreaming."

I will occasionally inject a colorful metaphors into one or both, for emphasis, but that's just my crude, arrogant, and over-confident self.

I should note that I use these as part of my now nightly MILD. The mantras alone wouldn't be enough to get me lucid most of the time, but combined with proper visualizations, trains of thought before bed, and utilizing my prospective memory. . .

Edit: Don't use the first one if you're new to Lucid Dreaming or haven't had enough LDs to fully develop your schema in that area.

      "I AM dreaming"
      "I WILL remember my dreams"
      "I WILL realize I'm dreaming"

Overall, I keep them short, sweet, and to the point. Less strain on the brain, I say. I've been focusing on recall as of late, but I think I'll try out the third one tonight for a change.

How much attention do you usually focus on the mantra?
"This is the strangest life I've ever known."

I do: "I will question everything."

I usually just repeat it in my head really firmly when I'm getting ready for bed.

I started off counting breaths, but now I say, "I'll remember my dreams." I can average 3 dreams a night (just working on recall)

I haven't had much time to try an LD, but when I did it once, I said, "I'll know when I'm dreaming."

I normally just go with "I will have a lucid dream tonight" with a possible minor change every now and then.

I start off with a lot of focus and meaning placed on it, but eventually, I let it just kind of fade into the distance as I drop off. Don't let it keep you awake.

I couldn't agree more. The best kind of MILD is the kind where you don't even remember when you stopped because it just flowed into the dream. Any time that happens to me I get an LD.

I use both "I will remember my dreams." & "I will awaken from my dreams and completely remember them." It depends on how hard I want to concentrate. Since I've only been doing this for a few weeks, I expect to experiment with different mantras.

I use "I will remember to realize when I'm dreaming." While I'm repeating this mantra, I like to recreate the feeling of becoming lucid and focus on it throughout the mantra.
Lucid dreaming makes for a wonderful night's play.

Now-a-days every palm RC (my only RC... only failed to work ONCE!) is accompanied with:

      "I will lucid dream tonight."

"Hey diddle diddle, the cat plays the fiddle. The cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such a sport and the dish ran away with the spoon. Now either do an RC or lay off the pills."

I usually use this mantra I made up for inducing both lucid dreams and dream recall.

I'm going to sleep. I will realize that I am dreaming. When I wake up I will remember my dream.

my early morning mantra is yoga. yoga make my all day very peace and soulful.
Developed in India, yoga is a spiritual practice that has been evolving for the last 5,000 years or so. The original yogis were reacting, in part, to India's ancient Vedic religion, which emphasized rituals. The yogis wanted a direct spiritual experience -- one on one -- not symbolic ritual. So they developed yoga.
Yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the classical language of India.

According to the yogis, true happiness, liberation and enlightenment comes from union with the divine consciousness known as Brahman, or with Atman, the transcendent Self. The various yoga practices are a methodology for reaching that goal.
In hatha yoga, for example, postures and breathing exercises help purify the mind, body and spirit so the yogi can attain union.

Pranayama breathing exercises help clear the nadis, or channels, that carry prana the universal life force, allowing prana to flow freely. When the channels are clear and the last block at the base of the spine has been opened, Kundalini rises through the spine, through the central channel called the sushumna-nadi, and joins the crown chakra. According to the tradition, the release of Kundalini leads to enlightenment and union.

I started using mantras frequently when I was having an emotional crisis, to help me fall asleep at night. At this time, I was having the most frequent lucid dreams... almost every night. My mantra has not changed since then, only the amount of nights I use it, now that the crisis is over, I can fall asleep much easier.

      Inhale breath: "Am I dreaming?"
      Exhale breath: "1"
      Inhale breath: "Am I dreaming?"
      Exhale breath: "2"
ect... up to 30. Then I restart at 1.

The reason I restart after 30 is because I was getting pissed off I wasn't falling asleep after 150ish... In other words, I stopped getting caught up in the numbers but I found keeping numbers to be highly effective.
