Hey |

It seems as though that in dreams I'm never fully lucid. There are many instances in dreams in which I realise I'm dreaming, yet I tend to waste it. During the day I think about what I'd like to do during a lucid dream...The people I'd like to meet and the places I like to go. However, during the dream I waste my lucid time by doing something stupid that only makes sense to me while in the dream. Take last night for example: |

The creature laughed, scornfully. "I," it said, "am afraid of nothing." "Nothing?" "Nothing," it said. "Are you extremely afraid of nothing?" "Absolutely terrified of it," admitted the dragon. "You know, I have nothing in my pocket, would you like to see it?" "No," said the dragon, uncomfortably, "I most definitely would not." There was flapping....and Charlie was alone of the beach.
"That," he said, "was much too easy."
At the end of the day, you're still dreaming. Lucidy can wax and wane. |

Lucid Dreams:-
MILD/DILD: 79
WILD: 13
DEILD:13
(TOTAL: 108)
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!
new goals: have more LD's than Shift[X]
10-15min LD [ X] Article: A day in the life of an LD-er
the "Mind V.S. Body" Induction technique
Everyman 2 LD's/ sleep schedule progress
Usually if I don't take time to stabilize one of my dreams I end up having such low-level lucids where I do ridiculous things that are a huge waste of time, and I'm bummed when I do wake up. |

Yea, you'd actually be surprised how difficult it can be to rattle off a full list of your dream goals, too. So it helps to just sit in your room, pretend you've had a FA, and go through the list a few times. Has happened multiple times where out of, say, seven goals I could only remember four, and not in any order. But working hard to bring about that firm understanding that it's a dream is definitely helpful in really assessing and understanding that it's a dream and everything that that implies. This allows you to think more rationally, which betters your dream control and enhances the dream itself, at least in my experience. |
|
That used to happen to me. Before i go to bed i meditate on the task i want to accomplish. I usually think about 1 or 2 things, no more then 3 though because i might not have the time to do everything. |

"The world is your playground. There are bumps along the way but this playground comes with a fully equipped toolbox with equipment out there to solve ANY disease, problem or issue out there. ONE problem. Some tools are harder to find than others. Lucid dreaming is just one of them."

Even when i feel im 99% sure Im dreaming I still am reluctant to take chances. "What if I'm not dreaming" always enters my mindset. |
|
yeah, i know what you mean. but when this happens to me, i just say to myself, "it's physically impossible to breathe through your nose when you're plugging it, so i am definitely dreaming." i hesitate for just a second, but then i know i'm good to go. i think that's something that comes with experience too. the more you LD, the more you recognize what it looks/feels like. no substitute for experience. |
|
HEHE, i just realised this discsion is very related to the matrix, bending the spoon issue. |
|
I know exactly how you feel. I hate it. I want so bad to LD, but I can never seem to be able to accomplish it, . Then, when I do actually realize that I'm dreaming, it never seems to be full. I keep asking myself, "Is this it? Is that LDing? It can't be. It's gotta be better than just that." The answer is that LDing is better than that, but it has to be full. I hope that one day I'll be able to experience this great phenomenon. I understand how frustrating what you're dealing with is. |
|
It's not that I have any problem realizing that everything is goofy. It could be a character flaw of mine but I still worry that what if it is real. And therefore I take no chances. It's like even if there is a .05% chance that I'm on PCP or something I don't want to risk doing something stupid. I have never and would never do PCP by the way - I realize this is an unreasonable fear but something I can't get past. |
|
I know what you mean. I'm always a bit nervous that I actually AM pushing my way through the car window and flying around. It sounds ridiculous, but I do worry... I can usually get over it after a few minutes. |
|
I know what you mean; I tend to lose lucidity within a few minutes, or just try and go with the scenario of the dream, not 'caring' that I'm dreaming. |
|
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

yeah I know what you mean. |

Yeah, I'm seeing it. This has happened to me as well. What you should do, is read my method of attaining lucidity in the Dream Control forum. It may help. It helps me. |

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is how I feel!!!! That is the reason I quit about a year ago, and it's the reason I've given up on DILD and moved to WILD. It was just so discouraging, and I kept thinking, "maybe I am just not able to LD, maybe my mind just doesn't work that way." |
