How far would you go to LD?

This is just an opinion question, out of curiosity. I'm wondering how far people would go to be able to lucid dream regularly. Some people have talked about using various drugs to induce it, and I wouldn't go anywhere near that far. I think I'd take a small reduction in quality of waking life to do it, but not that much. For example, I get up a few minutes early to keep a DJ, I'm going to try to eat foods that are more likely to induce it, and I take a few seconds to reality check whenever I remember. I would not take drugs, take time when I have important things to do or blow off work I have to do. What would you do to have regular LDs?
My username does not mean anything. It's not supposed to signal my religious preferences at all.
Dream Recall: Recall one dream each day for a week (meaning one DJ entry per day)[] Recall three dreams in one night (3 separate dreams in the DJ)[]
Becoming Lucid: Become lucid once[X] Become lucid at least four times in one week[] WILD[]
      Dream Control: Fly[]

I go extremely far to LD - but I don't use any drugs, or vitamin supplements to do it. Natural fruits are a good way to get things like melatonin (such as cherries).

If you ask me, the lucid aids forum is just a place for people to eat and take anything they want, and use lucid dreaming as an excuse. Examples:
      - marijuana to induce LDs?
      - chocolate to induce LDs?
      - icecream to induce LDs?

Whats next, regular sex to induce LDs? Try telling that to your partner.
Although, if you are comfortable paying for supplements and it works for you, who am I to judge?

How far would I go? Hmm... Not that far I guess, seeing as I don't consider taking melatonin or B6 from time to time going very far. I think the farthest I've ever gone was staying up for a night to see how I'd be affected.

I don't take any drugs, vitamin supplements, set alarms, stay up late, wake up early.

All I do are RCs, and keep a dream journal. If I get lucid, great. If I don't, I don't particularly care.

I think awareness is the most important thing to achieving lucidity, and that is something I practice throughout the day.

Oh yeah, I am waiting for the Nova Dreamer 2 to come out sometime in May. I like shortcuts.

      uuhhh....

Loaf, I do agree for the most part, though we've pretty much determined that marijuanna kills recall (not that most people on here need an excuse to use it). There is some legitimate stuff in there, but there's also a lot of crap.

Lucid Dreams: 22 (many more recently, I've stopped counting) (DILD: 20 --- DEILD: 2)

Why go that far, when you don't need to go that far...
Lucid dreaming is easy just learn to recall and become more aware of your dreams and every technique at this site is easy.

Err, I'd probably spend time doing different techniques, maybe get less sleep for a while to do something like CAT. Wouldn't go as far as actually paying for stuff though .

Take B6 (though my parents think I'm wierd for doing that), which I currently do. That's as far as I'd go, although I do take a nap once a week.

I would never consider taking drugs such as LSD, because of the addiction risk, or sleep more than 12 hours a night just to have more dreams.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

honestly drugs are quite easy to use as far as determination goes i think WILDing every night means your willing to go pretty far.

I went very far, so far that I was completely exhausted and tired over several months and could think about nothing else. Anyway, it paid off. The sad part is that after I stopped training, the average number of LDs quickly decreased. I'm still having spontaneous LDs occasionally without doing anything for it, probably because my awareness and dream recall is still a lot better than before and I know my dream signs. If I want to have lucid dreams now, I apply a WILD technique when I seize an opportunity. Otherwise I'm currently learning projection techniques that don't require me to sleep. It's even more work, but I'm sure it'll pay off, too.

Thats me, except I seem to get 2 or 3 LDs a week without putting too much effort into it.

I definitely wouldn't take drugs. I wouldn't take one drug my whole entire life actually, they disgust me. I would go pretty far to LD though.

would go very far for that ability but in my opinion its more in a connection with how your actual thinking will affect your subconscious... i take psychedelics several times a year for somewhat related reasons but would never actual order a drug off of the internet to induce a lucid dream. would go very far to be able to lucid dream naturally if i believed there were any other answer than developing a personal connection with your subconscious

I've yet to actually successfully WILD (I've gotten to the hallucination point, just never successfully transitioned into a dream)... but I might be able to help, Mythic.

Hallucinations are nothing to be afraid of Just remind yourself that they happen every time we fall asleep. They actually do. The only difference is, when WILDing, we're conscious, so we experience them.

I've always found my hallucinations fascinating. Which is unfortunate, as you're not supposed to focus on the hallucinations... you're supposed to just observe them... as if you're passively watching a TV show, but not really focusing on it.

I tend to experience a hallucination and I get all "That was cool!"

If the hallucinations truly bug you, perhaps you should concentrate on learning one of the DILD techniques?

Specifically, the MILD is a very effective way to induce lucid dreams. Like all methods, it takes a while to start working. It also takes a while to build up its frequency. But it's a very rewarding technique. The best part is, you do not have to experience HI

If you're hell-bent on using a WILD technique, perhaps trying something like the DEILD... the DEILD transition happens so fast, you won't even notice the hallucinations.

Thank you. I may try MILD.
It seems like I am on the border of something great, though.
If I could get past my fears of WILD, I am sure I could have awesome dreams.
I am kinda afraid of false awakenings - I have had quite a few nightmares which involve me "waking up" and then finding that something is freakily wrong.
I didn't experience HI when I tried WILD, I think because I was focused on my vision. But aural hallucinations are scary. The music in my daydream was interesting while it lasted, but the clock making guitar strums each second freaked me out.

And, when I opened my eyes and moved, I felt dizzy, like I was fainting or sinking into the floor. This scared me, because I though "What if I actually faint".

Sorry to be such a whiner. I am just a n00b when it comes to dreams and nightmares.
