      Meditation Technique

Hi. If you were wondering maybe why i havent been here for a while, well its because i was experimenting with LDing! In fact, i am here to share a tip that might help newbies. Basicly, it's just meditating before you try WILDing. The meditation tech i use is just the simple one where you sit in a comfortable chair, have your eyes half closed, and just breathe slowly emptying you head. Firts, you meditate for an hour, it may seem like a lot, but within short time, you will feel very comfortable and won't mind sitting there for an hour. Then go to bed. Basicly since you just emptyed your head for thoughts and became deeply relazex, you wont have to worry about filling your head with thoughts, or twitching, wich is a huge problem for many since it ruins your attempt. Then you begin to say out loud "i will enter a lucid dream" and you basicly just keep repeating that. Then within a short time you should enter the LD. Many people ruin their dream by getting to excited. But because you are in a deeply relaxed state due to meditating, that shouldn't be a problem. Having meditated before begining will also allow you to stay in you dream longer than normal, and the more you meditate the longer you can stay in, in fact, i almost every time purposely end my dream. So this was my little tutorial on how meditating can help you a lot. Hope you enjoyed my little tut session. Please post what you think about my tip, and if you had success with it, below. Of course this method might not work for everyone, but it should work for most.

dude this is an awesome idea. i have actually been doing astral projection training which involves some light meditation. the training manual says to do it in mid afternoon but i've been doing it before i go to bed, and my dream recall has dramatically improved in just a week. yesterday when i woke up i was able to recall 2 dreams, as opposed to not being used to remember any most of the time. hopefully as i boost my recall i will be able to project and lucid dream easier as well. =]

So you take meditation to mean not thinking?

I always looked at the use of that term differently. Breaking down a sensor system, I would have acquisition processing and product.
      Perception, conception, will.
Now when we are perceiving, I would call that concentration.
      When thinking, processing, meditation.
while doing something something like expression.

When I enter lucid dreamstate, I do not meditate, I concentrate.

When one concentrates on stilling the mind, that is still concentration, but not meditation--or at least not to me.
I just find it strage to give a no process the name of meditation--as I have often seen the term used as meditating on something.

I'm pretty sure he takes meditation to mean relaxing and clearing your mind.

I think you need to read up a bit more on meditation.
