Another thing I forgot: Its not enough to ask yourself if you're dreaming as the RC. You have to BE PRESENT. Bring awareness to the moment, try to recall what you have done in the last hour, try to recall where you are and which day is it.
If you just do RCs in a robotic, mechanic manner, they won't be very effective. However, if you do them right (with AWARENESS), they are VERY effective. I found that doing 6~8 RCs a day for 2 weeks heaps amazing results even for novices.
If you can't have a watch beeping all day (like, classes or work to attend), some cellphones can be programmed to vibrate with a timer. It's less conspicuous, for sure.
And eventually you'll become so amazed by your LDs that you won't need RC reminders at all, you'll spend your days thinking about LD. Just don't give up.
