      Shared Dream Passwords

When I was on holiday, I started having alot more lucid dreams. My brother was also on the same holiday.

About halfway through the holiday I had a lucid dream and he was there. Straight away I could tell there was something strange. I dont really remember alot of it, but he said ''lets think of a password''. So I look around for ideas and I pick a password.

The idea was to say the word so that we know it was a shared dream.

In the end, I failed to tell him the password.

But then again, so did he.

Just an idea for people who think they are having a shared dream. Pick a password, something unique, and tell them the word without actually saying anything about dreams and making them look at you like you're crazy.

1.) This belongs under "Beyond Dreaming".
2.) I made a thread related to this, but it was lost in the crash.

Basically, yeah. This is the only way to verify shared dreaming. An experiment where two shared dreamers are separated from each other, with a password given to one dreamer, which is to be transferred to the other dreamer. In the thread I started, people were making all kinds of excuses why this wouldn't work, because words are "hard to remember" in dreams.

      Moved to Beyond Dreaming.

This is a common thing that people do when attempting to have a shared dream - they ask the other dreamer something random that they'd only know if they were really in the dream, or the two dreamers each recall pieces of the dream, tell each other, and see if the accounts match up relatively well. Another thing I'm sure happens is that the two (or more!) dreamers each write their own entry of what happened in the dream, then they post it at the same time. This way, there's no fake accounts and no "yeah, I dreamt the same thing" without proof.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Actually, picking a random word out of the air, is not anything mystical. I'll bet a mentalist could talk to you for five minutes and come up with the same password. You just did the same thing subconsciously. I'm not a mentalist, but I've actually done this several times as a party trick.

It might be hard to remember.
